This, this right here is why Richard wasn’t in the Church at the end. He felt peace and moved on in this moment. All his guilt he has washed away

Richard was my favorite character in this show. Such a shame they didn't delve deeper in his time on the island.

this really is one of the best scenes in cinema or tv of all time. in itself and in the context of the show itself. I cannot stop watching it. I remember when I first watched it as part of the episode (which is superb) I was in complete awe. it is one of those things you are just thankful it exists - a grand masterpiece. I wish the show producers and the director and actors knew how many of us who love the show, do love this particular scene even more

@clarkesteinman5098

@@andrea.ximena7 I don’t know if he could hear her like he could hear Hugo, or how we hear each other. I think it was more something profoundly felt inside of him; knowing what she’s saying and doing without physically seeing, feeling, or hearing. He could spiritually hear/feel her. My biggest point towards that was he no longer needed Hugo’s translations after a moment.
@advaithrai6272

Hugo was always translating whatever she said. Its just that for us viewers, the directors skipped that part, becoz just think of it, hugos additional voice would have decreased the romantic presence between them

This is clearly one of Lost’ best scenes. This episode (Ab Aeterno) broke all of the show’s rules and delivered us a profound connection to Richard’s character. A film can easily be made out of this episode

Thank you! Yes, it is! They don't make them like this anymore. It has Impeccable writing, and a diverse number of characters are all connected to each other in some way. The best character archs, and I don't care people say the ending was perfect. Oh and the music my God LOST wouldn't be LOST without Michael Giacchino! The music is the best ever written for a show. Every character had a theme piece of music, and It was heartfelt on every single level.

I always liked Richard.. but when I saw this eps, i liked him even more but I also felt the most bad for him. He was just trying to save his dying wife and couldn't.. so sad.. then got accused of murdering that douchebag doctor.. Sold into slavery, chained to bottom of a ship that dragged him to the island.. just to spent literally hundreds of years being a slave/servant for Jacob just for it to be all for nothing
