Well, I was there lol. I was pissed because they announced our middle names and refused to shake the guy's hand. I was a bad girl lol.

I thought the Plumb Hotel was next to Mike's Recycling. What was next to Mike's?

I thought Plumb Hotel was on the corner of Main & Bloomington St. I don’t know where Mike’s Recycling was but you can see the highway signs for 23 & 18 and T & Teke’s old sign next to where they are destroying this building. I don’t know what year they tore this down but it wasn’t 3 years ago. I think it was Rokey’s Restaurant that was on bottom floor and I have pics of that burning in maybe 1979.

This really makes me sad...it was so much better back then and our town was bigger! Now it's a small town full of nothing but druggies, shooters, and rapists

@@TUBE-ID Yes, but other things are still there, like Joe's Pizza and I hear Dixie's too. I think there may be some uptake on the nostalgia front and there's lots of history to be displayed and money to be made on that. :)

No, this town has been in a perpetual downslide since the 50's. No hope... No chance of anything good ever to come from here anymore. We're all gonna die.

Are you sure the mini carnival is in the Smithsonian? All we know is that it went to DC but after that we lost track of it. We even called up to the Smithsonian a while back and they said they had no info on it ever being there. It would be fantastic to know where it is, but as far as we know it’s lost. How did you find it was there?
