As an athlete this is just infuriating. This president was absolutely stupid to think the players would take it well. It just shows how uninvolved he really is. The fact that he provided no real explanation except “numbers” just makes it even worse. When pressed by the players, he gets incredibly defensive and has to defend his ego. He resorts to flexing his power on the players and minimizing them “I’ve been here 45 years and you’ve been here 5” and “quiet down or I’ll make you”. He eventually just runs away when he sees that he’s powerless. From a leadership perspective, this is so incredibly unacceptable. I hope that he isn’t at the University today.

This video is just pure human emotion. I’m not huge on football so I can’t really speak on their sport, but their passion and drive to make a program that they knew was dying work out the best they can only to have it end on them is devastating. They handled this awful news the best way they could. It destroys me to know these people who gave their hearts to this program just lost it all at the end. So upsetting man.

Just comes off entitled. To play football is a privilege and that privilege is based on the schools ability to fund your activity. If the funds aren’t there then you’ll just be another student like everyone else, but with a full ride scholarship.

Memphis should be embarrassed and pissed that Birmingham, a worse off city economically, could find the support and afford to build a new Stadium and they can't. UAB is gonna end up in a P5 conference before Memphis will at this rate. So much for Fred Smith and FedEx backing the UofM. 😡 BTW UAB, nice stadium.👍

Bear Bryants son is who was hired by Alabama to lead the charge in shutting down UAB. UAB is becoming a huge market in the state and it's full of UAB fans. This was nothing more than Alabama attacking the UAB program for their own benefits. I solely believe that UAB could become a direct competitor with Alabama and Auburn.
