Absolutely fantastic choice for the montage. Works on so many levels. Another good one was the 1998 montage - Des Lynam reciting the poem 'if'.

This montage is just unreal, I’ve watched 1998,2002,2006,2010,2014,2018 and 2022 world cups… for 8 years or so I have been saying this World Cup will be terrible, I couldnt of been more wrong! this was by far the best one not even close! And the final to have a hat trick on the losing side and a super legend on both teams…! Unreal!!

Haters gonna hate and potato’s gonna potate. You mean all those teams that lost bar Argentina or did they all win? Just watch the premier league to see the worlds best players - many are English. Or just excel at the other sports we gave to the world especially being double cricket world champs and rugby. It’s hard to be the best in all sports.

I love football. Its a magical sport. Nothing else comes close to it for tension and drama. It really is the beautiful game. The Worlds game. The World Cup is the pinnacle of football emotionally. The CL is probably a higher standard but the World Cup is unique. The way it brings nations together. The heartbreak and joy involved in it. Its mesmerising. Football is a behemoth of a sport. The fact that the World Cup is once every 4yrs makes every World Cup special. And every one is great. This one (slave labour built stadiums aside) was exceptional at times. To see Morocco do so well was brilliant & a boost for African football. To see USA improve was class & a boost for American soccer. To see it hosted in the Middle East was great & a boost for M.E football. To see Argentina & especially Messi win it was a fairytale that Ive been wantin to happen for 16yrs now. TBH Id given up on it. Didnt think they had a chance. The final was epic. Best Ive ever seen(and Ive seen a fair few). Great to see a South American team win it again as well. Football never fails. It really doesnt. FIFA does but football doesnt. Hopefully no tournament is ever again corruptly sold to/ held in a country that needs slave labour to build the stadiums(that they didnt have when winning the "bid"). Football is the peoples game. Its our game. Not FIFAs. Not rich peoples. Slave labour cant be part of hosting a WC ever again. A great World Cup doesnt excuse it. All World Cups are great. Well done to all the journos who highlighted it and shame on all the whataboutism-ers or "waah westerners" who tried to silence fair criticism of slave labour. People can argue all they want about foreign policy or domestic laws of ALL countries around the World, none are perfect, but football fans/people really should all agree that not using slave labour to build stadiums to host the peoples game should be the minimum requirement for hosting any future World Cups. Anyway thats that for another 4yrs. Cant wait for the next one.

WOKE BBC LEAVE POLITICS OUT OF FOOTBALL
@Razormiller
Жыл бұрын
Politics has always been and probably will always be a part of the World Cup/football. Half the reason countries wana host it is political. If you knew anything about the sports history youd know that. Instead of "waah waah woke"-ing perhaps read up on World Cups links to politics.

So in this montage BBC chooses to highlight all the political statements made during this World Cup, including Iran, LGBT, taking the knee, but deliberately left out the one statement that was present in every single match: Palestine! But that's when we're told leave out politics from football. Don't be fooled by the sickening biases and double standards of the BBC and other media outlets.

To be fair, they did try to make it less colourful and magnificent than it might've been. For the first time ever they chose not to broadcast the opening ceremony and opted for a bland opening intro theme that made no reference whatsoever to the host nation, its culture and traditions.
