It’s crazy that when old talk shows are mentioned they always exclude The Richard Bey show. This was my show😂😂😂😂

And technically "Bey" came before "Springer" first. He took over "9BP" in 1989 somewhat, and officially in 1990. That's 2 years before "Springer" premiered. Actually you can say "Bey" started the same time "Morton Downey" did.

I will never forget before this the show was called 9 Broadcast Plaza and was shown on indepent network Channel 9 in New York. The topic was Drag Queens vs Midgets. They set up an obstacle course in the studio parking lot in Paramus N.J. Absolutely hysterical and good natured fun. Oh the early 90s!

As a pre-teen in the '90s, I had absolutely 0 business watching this show as much as I did 😂😂😂😂😂. Richard was basically a parody of all those talk shows from Oprah to Geraldo to Ricki Lake to Jerry Springer.

Does anyone know if this memory I have is real? I swear there was an episode of this show where Michael J. Anderson (best known for his role as the strange backwards talking dwarf from Twin Peaks) plays a character who gets interviewed and then performs a musical number about how it's tough being small or something.

7:32 - in one of the shots you can see a hot girl's clevage. Definitely hard R. While not obvious, this was a hard R show. Geraldo wasn't obvious either and it has R-rated moments, so much it's a TV-MA. This show was TV-MA-DLSV and had bad language, sexually explicit dialogue, hot girls and sexual stuff, violent fights.

I saw the hot girl’s cleavage, Richard Bey was a TV-MA DLSV type show I agree.

The Richard Bey show should have ran for more seasons, mainly when it aired on national syndication shortly after the launch of UPN in 1995. Most of the UPN stations that aired Richard Bey in first run syndication were either owned by Parmount or United Television, my former UPN Affiliate KTXH 20 was one of the stations that aired The Richard Bey Show.

How the hell have I never heard of this show? I just saw the name on a Jerry Springer video. This is my first time ever seeing this show. Damn I wish it would have aired here in Buffalo New York. This was more of a local show on public access from what I’ve seen. Dang it’s too bad this wasn’t National…

While he was a local show, he still did better in Secaucus/New York/Brooklyn than "Springer" or "Geraldo" (Tribune's [predecesor to the non-Warner Bros. network The WB]) did nationally. No one knew either two. They were lame crap forgotten shows.

The Richard Bey show was a local show that aired on WWOR 9, it was later nationally syndicated shortly after WWOR’s owner United Television partnered with Paramount to launch the United Paramount Network (aka UPN) on January 16,1995. Most of the stations that aired Richard Bey when it went national was UPN Affiliates some of the UPN Affiliates that aired Richard Bey was either owned by United Television or Paramount Stations Group, my UPN Affiliate KTXH 20 was one of the stations to air Richard Bey shortly after it went national in 1995.

@@TracyGJacksonTV I know. The show ran 9 years because it started as either "9 Broadcast Plaza" or "People are Talking." One of those 2 premiered in 1987 and then took the form of it people know today as "The Richard Bey Show." He was a host on both. EDIT: yup "9 Broadcast Plaza."

🤠 laughing out loud, I don't know why but I was just thinking about the show. Yes and I was when those type of people who watch this one it was on too I actually like it, until The Ricki lake show came on and I start watching that instead. The Richard bey show was pretty decent, For sure it was. Back then when it was on, I was really hoping it would have stayed on longer than it did. a good entertaining show. I'm surprised they're not playing the reruns on regular television
