Which varieties of timber do Danish designers favour?

In most of the famous design classics teak, rosewood or oak is mostly used.. But beech is also very common.. :)

I would say oak, oak have a strong history when it comes to furnitures, and Wood working in Denmark ! We have some of the finest oak in the world, called navy oak. As a Danish woodworker, if somebody ask me to build something really Danish, I would go for oak. I rally like exotic woods, but I was asked to make a reproduction, on let’s say “the chair”, I would make it in oak, all the lines and features really pops out when it haves a bright color, and the contrast between light and shadow really pops,

@@Kewonerdk I would argue that the beauty of the Dane's work is not defined by their domestic raw materials at all. Quite the opposite; it's defined by design and craftsmanship entirely.
