Some contextual info for you, nudity is illegal to depict in most regions of India, particularly the Isalmic parts. Indian films are always longer because it's the primary activity for an entire family to go out and partake in. The entire music industry is contained to film music, so people will see films many times and sing and dance in the audience. If the film is under 2hrs 30mins and doesn't include several genres to entertain everyone for different reasons the audience will feel cheated. It's just a cultural expectation. Check out the film Veerana in this set. It's got tons of cool Italian horror type imagery and colored gel lighting.
