This was BK at their best! To think what these guys could have accomplished had they kept this design team together…. This show should have been a springboard to bigger and better things. Sad that it didn’t turn out that way.

Idk man, I think you’re right. I’m hopeful about ‘24 though! Since we made it back to finals, I hope that our vet base and audition pool talent will allow us to go more in the direction of this show. Idk, that’s what I hope happens!

The percussion writing is wonderful. I’m a sucker tight unisons and man theirs are noice 👌. “Hurt” is such a haunting song. There’s a version on of Trent Reznor playing it solo on piano that just hits you in all the right places

Ngl the only thing keeping this corps from being champion are the lines. Musically execution is 10/10 but if they could really focus on the drill the Blue Knights will be unbeatable

That Liquid hit still sends chills up my spine. 2005 with Cadets and now with them. My cousin marched with BK back in 2017 or 2018. I forget the season. It was the first season they started wearing these kinds of uniforms.

I really like that show, but honestly if the voice track wasn't there, it would have been a better product. The skill is too high to have a Jeff Bridges style gruff narrator talk over such excellence.

This is my favorite show of 2019. I LOVE the piece Liquid by Jay Bocook that was featured in the opener of this show. It was also in the Cadets 2005 show, The Zone. The most epic parts of it are, in my opinion, the hit at 4:38 and the section at 5:31

This part feels like magic because all the vibes are improvising on one chord and each of us played an accent on one specific note but we just go off of each other as the sounds get passed back and fourth from either side of the pit. Each rep is always a little different so each experience is different everytime. Mastercraft in sound and writing design

Wyatt A it is very much up to your interpretation Imo It is about someone living through something that has pained them and even though they try to move passed it they always remember it I believe the mirrors are their because a mirror is generally something that sees you at your best and worst and will “remember what you are” The repetition of “I have one place to be” represents how the narrator wants to get back to his former self or a prior version of his life to which he remembers fondly That is my interpretation of it Atleast.

The idea of the show revolved around drum corps as an activity and the impact it has. DCI reaches millions of performers and audiences each year with captivating performances from the best in the world. The idea is that the bonds and connections of a drum corps grow so strong, that they create their own "home". Overall, this show is a collection of the shards and pieces of memories, inspirations, ideas, reflections, and visions of the people who design, create, teach, serve, and perform at the Blue Knights.

BK doesn’t ever have very solid show concepts and storylines. I was a member for several years, and almost every year, whenever a different designer would discuss the show with the members, you would get a different story. They really like to keep things vague and metaphorical and let the performers each bring their own individual interpretation to the show.
