My heater does not stop when it gets to set temperature. For example: 1) Trailer is at 14C 2) I set temperature to 20C. Heater turns on and heats 3) Trailer reaches 20C. Heater goes to minimum setting but does NOT stop 4) Trailer temperature keeps rising to 25C+, very uncomfortable. How can we have the heater turn off or run fan alone when reach desired temperature?

I have this control on the 3rd 5KW all-in-one (red slim case) I bought in January 2023 from VEVOR. The two physically identical heaters I bought before in 2021 and 2022 had what was called "new Blue-style controller" with the elapsed- time. I do not like this control - NOT because it's in any way difficult to use, but because it connects to completely differently-programmed controller! This controller start-up routine idles the fan super low, and turns on the glow plug. When the plug reaches temp, it does a fan pulse with 3-shoots of fuel from the pump and then drops the fan speed back again. Then starts pumping the normal H3 pump rate before gradually increasing the fan speed to a high rate. This results in too much fuel and white smoke during start up and a fuel smell escaping from the air intake for about 5-10 seconds - until the flame in the burner can be heard noticeably increased and the glow plug goes out. After that, the fan comes up to a mid-range blowing lukewarm air until it reaches operating temp at H3 by default and the blower settles in. At shutdown the glowplug comes back on and the fan is slowed to almost stop - running at idle for about a minute or so - apparently with the idea of allowing the additional the burner chamber to burn off more unburned fuel residue. Then after hearing the exhaust pipe ticking from the heat, the fan finally comes back up to a useable speed to complete the cooldown. The identical unit with the earlier "New Blue Controller" did not attempt to reach near overheat conditions by virtually shutting off the fan on an already hot burner chamber with a lit glowplug. Instead it turned the glowplug on with the blower going immediately to a high speed until cooldown was completed. During startup, the fan ran at a slow but still functional CFM while the glowplug was on. On reaching ignition temperature the pump was started at a high rate, the fuel ignited and the fan speed was increased to force more air through the chamber. The result was no exhaust backflow and faster operating temperature air discharged from the outlet. I do not prefer this new style controller at all. However, it is both the controller and controlboard (and possibly the harness wiring) that would have to be retrofit to convert it to the timer-type Blue controller. (Unfortunately this same controller format with "H3" on the display is also being sold in the original blue controller shell! It is not to be confused with the black or blue "00:00" ones!) The start-up and shutdown procedures programmed into this "H3" controller do not compare favorably against the "00:00". This was not an improvement.

When in the auto mode, and I set it to a temp, will it automatically adjust fan speed AND fuel rate? If I set the temp to one lower than ambient, will the fan just run on its own?

This model of controller has all of the "secret" menu items deleted, you cannot access them by typing in a code like you could the previous model. All it has is Temp control, On/Off, Timer and that's it! With the previous model you could alter the fan speed, link to you phone and Afterburner app, pump pulse rate and voltage range. If you want the earlier style control LCD, you also have to change the ECU board too as they are different protocols for controlling the heater. The 'older' style LCD has the WiFi symbol at the top of the display, the newer one does not.

Yes my controller is the same. I think this comes with the variable heat heater. Like you said it isn't as common as the other style controller. Any how you showed how the Plateau works. It is dropping the heat down which is great. I also think the Celsius reading isn't 126deg but 26. You just leave the number 1 Off. Cheers.

The Alpine or plateau setting is for when you are using the unit at high altitudes. I don't believe you should use it at lower altitudes as it's an incorrect fuel air ratio. Alpine and plateau are just terrible Chinese translations for " high altitude "

Does your unit mounting plate get quite hot during operation?
@fredfred2363
Жыл бұрын
Yep, sure does. Too much air blowing through the combstion chamber means the exhaust gets too hot. Choking the combustion air feed (at max fan) actually cleans up the burn, increases heat output and reduces exhaust temps. Makes the whole unit more efficient 👍🏻😀🇬🇧

press the left two buttons for Alpine mode the mountain peaks show up ... this lowers the injection rate of the fuel so you can burn less and at a lower temperature. 1 liter for 10 hours! I also crushed the intake combustion air tube to reduce the combustion air flow and mixture and got it running hotter at the lower fuel rate 106-120C in a cold room. I have lots of heat loss so I made a loop in the exhaust pipe and draw air past it with the room intake hose so that heat doesn't go out the window.

Thanks for your attempt to decipher BUT you only got part of it right and should note that the instructions I recieved with my heater recieved a month ago warn NOT to use the "Alpine setting often" its referred to as Plateau setting. It says that you can damage the system .......... no idea why???? They seem to be good little heaters for the $ but the support side is abysmal especially the instructions ....................... your better without. This controller we have is obvioulsy the cheap one as my friend purchased a different style same $ range but has a controller that is far more intuitive with better options and settings. You get what you get when you go Chinese. Really too bad when they have what appears to be a great product but extremely disappointing support.
@mattsmith2051
2 жыл бұрын
It says to use the plateau mode “carefully”, whatever that means. It does not warn to not use often. All it does it reduce the pump pulse rate and the fan speed is automatic which adjusts and compensates for the oxygen levels if experiencing high altitudes. I don’t believe there is any reason for alarm as long as you occasionally do a higher temperature burn to reduce and remove any possible build up.
