Hi, I removed all the bolts under the engine as shown in the video, but I still can't detach the engine. It's as if it's glued.

Its been about 9 years since i made that video . Check again at the 33 sec mark i mentioned tapping with a mallet. You can also try spraying with pb blaster . If you have all the bolts out the 2 guide pins may be holding it. Good luck

Is it really necessary to drain the oil? Isn’t it located higher than the part that you are removing?

Great video thank you very useful. However I think I overtighten the bolts and crushed the gasket. I assume there was a tension recommended on those bolts not crank them down as hard as you can.

I just encountered exact problem on my 2014 Silverado after changing the cabin air filter and was glad I found this video. One stray leaf in the blower motor and it sounded just like yours did. You're 100% correct about the rear right bolt being difficult. Easy fix but time consuming.

Good evening, congratulations on the video. I have the same engine as the one in the video, Suzuki df 6cv 4t from 2004. I would like to know if possible, what is the load torque for closing the cylinder head bolts, that I have to change the cylinder head gasket. Thanks bye.

It was the upstream ,before the catalytic converter. The upstream oxygen sensor is situated before the catalytic converter whereas the downstream oxygen sensor is located after the catalytic converter.

I have only done a few videos with the hope of helping someone . I am not a pro KZitemr and have never received a penny for any of my videos. If you feel I left something important out , why don’t you post a video and add too the knowledge base? I think you will find video taping while you try to fix something is not as easy as some people make it look. Hope you got yours taken care of nothing worse than being at the mercy of someone else fixing your car. Cheers

I usually have NO problem taking things apart, now, putting them back together so they work, well, that's another issue. How did you get those two T30's between the front bumper cover (valence) and fender ? I'm wondering if I have to put fenders and cover as a unit and like a big U then, put it on ? It was crashed so taking it off was easy...and expensive....

Had same issue - It has made no difference over the 2 years since. I have recently removed the motor unit again and fixed the binding shift lever (second time). Now used a better sealant (one used for motor vehicle engine sumps with no other gasket required) between motor unit and the leg which has cured the leaks. Runs well and shift lever is nice and loose.

This was very helpful.I did have quite a bit of trouble removing the engine. Tapping with various hammers was not sufficient and I had to use a broad screw driver to get the gasket to let go. Then, removing the shifter from the barrel was ridiculous. I finally had to drill the shaft out and ream the hard plastic that had been oxidized to the wall. Fortunately, there were 2 of us and we persevered! We ordered the new shift shaft and a gasket and got them ups in 3 days. We are now back on the water! Thanks for your help and an excellent video.

I bought my DF5 brand new 10 and some years ago. It is almost exactly the same motor, and it has exactly the same fuel pump you are talking about.. In LESS THAN A YEAR it started to SPRAY fuel from the fuel pump you are talking about when I squeezed (not very hard) the rubber bulb pump on the fuel hose. The supposed to be flexible rubber gasket between the two halves of the fuel pump was hard as stone. I mounted a new original gasket. And in less than another year the new gasket started to leak just as bad. I got pissed and bought a sheet of fuel resistant flexible general purpose gasket material and made a new gasket myself. After 10+ years my home made gasket still doesn't leak. SHAME ON YOU SUZUKI FOR SELLING CRAP LIKE THAT! Leaking fuel can have nasty consequences. I don't know if Suzuki has made any improvements on the gasket material if you buy a new gasket now, but I wouldn't count on it.

...and another tip! Drill a hole through the lower unit that lines up with the centerline of the square axle. Put a rod through the hole, and sledge hammer the rod to get the lever out! Then thread the hole and fill it up with a screw!
