Jospem is an absolutely *sick* player and I have tremendous respect for how he handled this. I have lost all respect for Kramnik - although cheating *is* a problem he has done this so badly accusing people with really really poor evidence, ignoring actual statistical evidence etc. Kramnik just acted like a baby throughout.

It should have just been 36 games over the board... If Jose is as good as he claims to be on the computer.. There's no reason in the world why that wouldn't or couldn't translate over the Board. I play both over the board & on the computer... And my abilities don't get any better or worse when I'm either on the computer or playing on a board... If someone plays really well over the computer but not so good over the board.. Then I would absolutely agree with Kramnic- that could only mean they're utilizing app assistance to defeat others on the computer... And the fact that it's so incredibly easy to use app assistance these days.... That it's really not a stretch of the imagination to believe that someone like Jose would be tempted to use it, esp if he feels he might be losing.

Kramnik is a sore loser. He's past his prime and cannot admit that he's just not that good, especially in fast time controls, compared to very good young chess players. Many say that one player cheats as soon as he/she has a good series of games at a tournament.

Appears that ChessCom wanted to make Kramnik look bad, one way or the other. When it didn't happen over the board, "bugs" magically appeared.
@l.d.t.6327
Ай бұрын
Bugs were on both sides, it was a general bug that both suffered from. What didn't happen over the board? Kramnik proved he is a (slightly) better OTB player, no coicidence as he's a former WC. But Kramnik accusing Jospem of cheating, after all of this, looks really bad on Kramnik. Kramnik also complained and had the format changed. Jospem was mentally not prepared, once they played online, to go back OTB. Rules / format changed during the clash, and Kramnik still lost.

Kramnik demanded new laptops every day, straight out of the box, and so got nailed by Windows Update. How are the event organizers supposed to work around that? Either Kramnik can place some basic level of trust in the IT crew, or they should tell him the truth -- that the Windows Update problem is a _direct consequence_ of Kramnik's conditions, and he just has to deal with it. There is cheating, but Kramnik cries wolf _way_ too often!

Nice video....but the ending was very poor sorry to say....'vladimir kramnik is a legend of the game blah blah blah and his claims will always have some merit'.....this is the point where you failed. You couldn't acknowledge that he is a crybaby loser who wants attention back on him....Vishy is much more active, and much stronger, yet humble, he doesn't say absurd things to cause controversies, and gain attention using his legacy....to please all your viewers alike, you ended up being too diplomatic...sad....

The chess bug has been reported by Gotham, Eric Rosen, and many other good players who have no reason to be biased in Kramnik's favor. Also with Jospem's strength online with being close to on-par with Hikaru/Magnus in TT he should have completely decimated Kramnik but clearly. Obviously Jospem is still quite skilled but this was nowhere near his regular TT performance level. That doesn't mean he's cheating but this isn't a win for Jospem at all, especially considering his low performance against a retired much older player otb.
