The sidebrush in my Neato D7 Connected stopped working. But I managed to replace the O-ring with help of an instruction-video. 2 rubber rektangulär rubbers size:10x7x5 mm fell out when disassembled, Cannot find any place for them!? Where are they supposed to be mounted? The rubbers must be som sort of chockabsorbers? Anyway, the machine seem to be working without them (for now).

Hi. It is an IOT board, a Particle photon, that triggers a relay that sits across the clean button. The Particle is then triggered by an If This Then That routine, that is started with an Alexa command.

Hello, thanks for the video. It helped me open it up to set up a new belt for the side brush. Once reassembled, the main buttons were not clicking anymore (arranged that by unscrewing the main T10 screws but i'm pretty sure they were not that loose before disassembling), and main issue is that my neato won't work anymore and keeps saying "...push switch DOWN to ON" when docked.. Undocked, it stays up for few seconds only... Saw on forums that it is advised to switch battery, but mine was ok before disassembling... Any tips?? Thanks

Hey Semy! It sounds like you are suffering from the bin not sitting down in its hole properly. It is held in by friction and it doesnt always work, I've seen it before and cant remember exactly what I did to cure it. What you could try is to get some thin cardboard, like a cereal box or similar and wedge it in between the body and the edge of the bin to help hold it in place, see if that helps!

Let it be known that many of the newer Neato Botvacs have "tamper-proof" torx T10 screws. And you have to have the right tool to remove them. So dumb.

Great tip, thanks for the info, presumably that would be the D3, D5 and beyond series? For UK viewers, somewhere like ToolStation should be able to supply you with one of these cheap kits which have "Security Torx" bits as they are known as here. www.toolstation.com/draper-security-bit-set/p52910?store=ON&gclid=Cj0KCQiA0fr_BRDaARIsAABw4EtgQMib_cfFYfEC8M-yGhwSQTLrqQYwwNff8nCWAsAiB_jJk62ICroaAgnzEALw_wcB

Neato products are highly problematic devices. After 1.5 you get only problems. After warranty period Neato simply die for price 900 Euro. Very horrible reliability. This is my experience with D7. More people have same experience. Do not buy this terrible device. Read here experience kzitem.info/news/bejne/pHx9mYptm5eeeWU and read experience on Facebook Neato channel. Very terrible experience from huge amount people who paid a lot of money!!!! DO NOT buy this product !!!

@tabletmctablet

@@tjlwolf Hey bud, Its quite a common fault on all Neatos from Botvacs onwards, when they changed the bin style. The plastic clip on the bin itself, can be bent outwards from the main bin body, be very careful, it can break if you are too rough on it. Then the increase in friction should hold the bin in. Alternatively, the part on the main robot body that the clip on the bin mates with, can get debris stuck in it, stopping it from bending to retain the bin clip, I found a stone in one once, removed it and everything worked fine, but I had to remove the robot top cover to have a look.

Hope that helps. I can post a quick vid if you need, but it might take a couple of days for me to upload it.
@tabletmctablet

My apologies, I wrote while on the bus and not in front of a Neato. The clip is all in the main body, you do need to remove the top cover to be able to clean it of debris or bend it so it has correct friction against the bin. If your bot is still bad after investigating, then there is one more thing to try, the rubber button that tells the bot that the bin is in place, wears out and can be repaired with some carbon paint.

Hi there, you can get them from ebay. The older white botvac type will work in the connected but you need to swap the belt motor over as the body space is configured differently. I *think* you could probably use an xv series tower, but again motor swap out and I havent tried with that specific series tower so cant be 100% over it. Thanks for the Question!

What size lawn do you have there bud? this one is huge and is meant for like 3000 sq ft of lawn, if you have a smaller lawn then you are probably more suited to an RM400, they come with a dock and can be scheduled so are far more automated than this bad boy. But I agree wholly with your sentiment, mowing the lawn sucks. Get a robot to do it.
