How’s the shading? They don’t appear to go out far enough? Looks great though!
@NOMADventures360
8 күн бұрын
They are partially exposed by 6”prior to expanding them. With 30” pneumatic actuators they are fully exposed with just the brush guard creating a little bit of shade. But only loosing about 30 watts per panel.

I purchased them from Amazon 3 years ago. They used to be called DOOYA but when I search my orders it’s now called VIDEMA. They look very similar just a different name. I originally purchased one to verify that I could make it work before I ordered all of the. I then painted the outside of the vinyl panel black. They’ve worked great for me. a.co/d/eussF39

How reliable is that bed mechanism? Aren't you afraid of getting crushed against the ceiling during your sleep or the bed failing on your head while you're cooking?
@NOMADventures360
10 күн бұрын
🤣 Extremely reliable. The electric actuators are from Progressive Automation, 4 total all controlled from a single control box which insures they all move equally. We have presets on the touch pad controller that only go partially to the top or bottom and then we have to manually hold the controller to go the rest of the way to prevent anything from being crushed. Like my wife! If I remember correctly they 4 actuators can lift a total weight of 1,600 lbs. The type of screw lead that moves them makes it impossible to just slip or fall.

I thought a state of the art solar panel these days had about a 23% efficiency. You mention 80% though, but maybe I´m misinterpreting your comment. Could you please clarify?
@NOMADventures360
Ай бұрын
If a solar panel is rated as a 100 watt panel you can expect to get 80 watts with direct sunlight in the middle of summer. Because they become less efficient as they heat up. They are most efficient on cold days but then the sun is typically lower on the horizon.

Great use of space, most sacrifice either square feet (so we can get to beautiful locations) or stunning camping locations(we take too much stuff and our rigs are the size of a small house) but you found a solution to have your cake and eat it as my grandfather use to say. Great build i hope the both of you plan on international travel destinations as well, safe travels.

Beautiful build. I love the use of space and the porch. I just picked up my 1079A1 and would love to pick your brain further when you have some time. Any chance you can provide some links to items sometime down the road? IE. Cabinets drawers, electrical components, bed actuator, etc? Thanks so much!

A conversation would probably be a great idea at some point as probably 95% of the components of our build is custom built by us. For example, cabinet/drawer frames, drawers, faces…all built by us but glides and latches we can point you in the right direction, same with electrical - we did the work but bought all Victron components. Hit us up when you have specific questions!!

It was great meeting you today too!! By the way, lunch was phenomenal (we had the boudin burger 🤤 and bought food to go for dinner)!!! We have a Guzzle H2O system for our “inside” filtration and UV purification system. We use a typical RV filter just outside the water tank when we pull from a known safe source and have a Sawyer filter for pre-filtering water from an “unknown” source.

Great Build! Did you purchase this system as a kit or did you design the deployable system yourself? If the former, can you point me in the direction of where you acquired it? If the latter, great job!

Unfortunately, there is not a kit out there 😫…so we designed, fabricated, installed, and implemented the entire design ourselves.
