I trust someone using the pan more than someone selling it. So when you slosh it left and right to remove the light material it's not suppose to hold in the gold? Just break it up? Seems to be talking in circles. Dan's second video seems to be spot on. People working in tobacco plants defend tobacco.

Recon is great I have made and tried a lot of Mat sluices and this is the easiest ever as long as you get the flow right which is pretty easy. The other day I had an idea to maybe classify the material a little smaller since I have flour gold were I am, so I called and Talked to Dennis then I got a follow up call BACK from the creator of the sluice and we had a good discussion about water flow restriction if I put a cover over the classifier that is built in. Water over flow may be restricted to the point that gold may blow out its a very important balance of Top flow and side flow for the Fluid Field to work properly! I would recommend this sluice to New and Pro's The Stand makes adjustments to water depth very easy! The Company is by far the most personal I have ever talked to!

In your video you say he knew that tub was too small for your product. how did he know the tub was too small? He did say he was a novice at your device, I dont know if your product comes with a manual but maybe have a manual come with it and tell people it cannot be used it a tub smaller than so many gallons, or specify it can only be used in a river. Also most people interested in panning gold know that ripples are the key component to stopping gold after stratifying, So they will probably assume your ripples are used to stop gold. Since your ripples are not used for that at all as you claim in your video, you might have to add that to the manual as well. Because unless someone takes the time to find your channel and watch your video there not going to know your ripples do nothing except break apart clay and material. and also specify that your pyramid has to be fully submerged to work properly. All of these suggestion will help your product sell better and make you more money. Especially for people new to gold panning who have no clue what there doing, and unless they have been out there in the field and panned gold or watched hundreds of hours of tutorials. There not going to know what there doing, like most first time users. If you truly care about your product and the people who buy it and you want to be successful help your fellow man and give them the info they need to be successful in a quick and easy manual, if you have already done this your a better man for it. Second you say there is gold in that pan. but you did not even bother to show any gold with the camera man 5 feet away. you say your the manufacturer show us a good product by showing the gold you just got in that blue pan. i guess we will all just take your word. There is no reason to be so aggressive with a video response like this. I am just a nobody and my opinion doesn't mean squat, but dan is a good and honest man. its hurts when someone comes in and says rude things. i am not trying to be rude either but just stating my own two cents. sorry if my comment offended you.

It’s crazy that u got butt hurt over dans video. For one he said he was a novice with ur pan. He said how hard the material he was running was to capture and offered u to come to his claim to show the proper way to use ur pan and show it off. I own a pyramid pan and it’s great for certain material. Any pan will do great with big cobblestone or river rocks in it. For the material dan was using in it, the pyramid pan doesn’t work well. Just because ur pan won’t cover 100% of any material thrown at it, don’t blame dan. Be a real man and take him up on his offer to show it off on his claim what it can do.put ur money where ur mouth is.

Let me say first off. Love Dan Hurd. Been a fan for a while. The way to settle this is to have a “pan off”. Pan Dan’s material and he can pan the tailings to see what your pan missed. I am pretty sure Dan is honest and professional enough to do that and be perfectly happy to show results with his usual honesty. I just really can’t see myself paying so much for that pan when some others had better results and are cheaper. Don’t be negative about Dan. He was open honest and fair. He is a national treasure. Wait! I am American. Seriously, do a pan off!

Yours is a demonstration of the product, Dan Hurd tried to control the variables for a scientific trial so an unbiased view. If you want some validity to tests you need to control variables so comparisons can be made. Maybe you should collaborate, instead of berate him.

I am sorry I used your pan incorrectly the first time though. I hope you saw today’s video where I addressed this fact and showed that I did a second test using it correctly and got similar results 63% capture. And I put footage of he second test in today’s video. Making sure I showed its correct use. I also basically “Blamed” the material I was trying to pan for the bad recovery rate. I should also note recovery rates were only 1 of 5 things I put into my conclusions. Dan

Hey dan i am just curious, did that pyramid pan come with any type of manual? In his video he says everything were doing wrong, and i was just wondering if its such a complex tool maybe he should have a quick two page manual with all the do's and dont's of gold panning for his specific product. Because that would really help gold panners out there including the first timers getting into gold panning. plus it would make his product more successful.

No matter how good or bad a product is it will get good and bad reviews. It is how you respond that makes a difference. In this case I would have responded entirely with a friendly "this is how it is properly used". Any way I would not have heard of your channel or pan if not for Dan's video. The Pyramid Pro Pan is a beast. Tough as nails, and it goes through material very quickly thus enabling you to get more gold in every session. Some prospectors I admire here in British Columbia consider the PPP to be the fastest production pan on the market, period, and a great addition to their prospecting toolkit on top of their existing gold pan. I love my PPP and continue to recommend it. Also - it wasn't hard to learn, I was getting gold right away. The long handles are a real plus for me, and after using my PPP today I couldn't stand to do another pan with my Super Sluice as it felt too slow! It was light as a feather for hiking - shovel in one hand, PPP in the other. Disadvantages of the PPP are that you need deeper water and bit of room to swing, and I would slow down a bit, and also have some bigger rocks in the pan if I was in an area with crazy black sand but small, flat, kitey gold. Overall, the PPP is one of my favourite tools for speeding up my panning by 3-5X.

OUCH! I wonder what your definition of a Professional Prospector is. I have had my prospecting licence for many years. I have been panning or prospecting since I was 13. I run a prospecting buisness, I work with Junior Exploration company looking for new deposits, I run a machine operation, I have approved government permits for that operation. I have worked with people from the ministry of mine. Hell I even had a beer with the chief gold commissioner. I work with Minerals Ed as a "Professional Prospector" And who are these "Top Prospectors" you speak of? Because the "Top Prospectors" are working for big companies, and doing their testing with equipment far beyond the PPP. Sure they all know how to pan, and the all have one and use it. But their work is done from Helicopters and drill rigs, Not finding away around the no river sluice rule and using a "Production Pan" so they can get 1 gram of gold in a day from a known source. And for point two, If you watched the whole series, I DID watch the videos before hand, and I DID two tests of this item. I used the footage of the test that performed better. However in the concluding video I showed footage from the other test and explained why I thought the pan did not do well in the test where I used the pan as shown in the instructional videos. I would like to point out during these test I stayed positive about everything, I never once insulted the company, manufacture or product. I explained clearly my methods, and I welcomed the owner to join me for a second test. I took the blame for the poor results. And I was very clear through the whole process that I was using the most difficult material I could think of and using the pan as a complete novice. Do I think the PPP can do better than what I show? ABSOLUTELY! And I state that both in the first video and in the conclusion video. Do I think other pans are better? YES for my purposes I honestly do.

I have been watching your videos and videos of your pan by other people and I am going to buy the set for sure. That tub Dan panned in was only a tiny bit to small and even so there was enough room to stratify that material in that tub. I would like to see you do an even closer comparison just to show that that pan does not let the gold out. I know you do not have to classify but it would be good to show that even if you do, it still keeps all the gold. I would like to see a bucket of concentrates with really fine gold gold through this pan. That would be a direct comparison if you use a capture tub to check for losses. I saw one of your other videos that showed the proper use of this pan and logic tells you the gold is all in the bottom but even still the guy I showed it to still wants to see how much it lost because of Dans video. People like him so much that they are not looking at his video logically. Dan mentions that he is a novice and did not know how to use it and he also mentions that it is expensive. If I bought this and was going to spend money and the time to use it and the gas to get somewhere to use it, I would want to have some idea how it works. I cannot imagine not watching any videos first.

What Dan did wrong was dump the material into the tub before even panning it for one thing. Number two was overfilling it and dumping the material before it was stratified. The way he used it and his comment section went rabid against this pan, it was like a product assassination more than a review. I was wondering if he just doesn't like these guys. Dan is my favorite gold channel so it actually bothers me quite a bit.
