The four sided Quasi turbine is a better design plus the center is empty so you can put your transmission or generator in the middle of it.

The original Wankel Rotary engines low compression was caused by an improperly sized spark plug opening. Easily solved but apparently nobody was willing to correct it.

Pretty interesting design! Please consider these points on the gasoline version 1) You might want to have some sort of a reed valve on the intakes because I think some of the mixture might get pushed back into the intake. 2) Your Spark Plug on the far end & fires AFTER peak compression, resulting in lower energy extraction. You might want a lead & trail twin plug setup for it because the inherent problem of an extremely wide combustion chamber is still an issue here :( The flame has to travel all the way to make sure that the entire mixture is burnt (another problem of rotaries, incomplete combustion) 3) There is a little bit of compression happening after combustion, this reduces efficiency as it slows the rotor down, not sure how you can tackle it. 4) At 2:34 both your intake & exhaust is open...again, not a great idea. 5) The side of the housing where intake & exhaust sits, you have to make sure lubrication is even there. Because this design still has to burn oil & have such a weirdly wide combustion chamber, it's difficult to make it meet current emission norms & get mass produced.

I have to correct you on one thing this is not the first time this has been introduced, the US military developed it back in the seventies it's called the 580 rotary. This engine as well can run off of any fuel.

Good day . We want to present a revolutionary engine for the world market, it is an internal combustion engine Patented by PCT pending in 59 countries which is a revolution in terms of: Design, economy, efficiency, costs, weight and ease of production, size scalable to any power without limits, for any type of fuel, such as synthetic methanol for negative CO2 emissions and HYDROGEN for ZERO emissions, obtaining 3 times more efficiency than a current engine and greater than batteries and also hydrogen fuel cells used with electric motors, a novel thermodynamic cycle with more than 75% efficiency, that is: One liter of fuel is enough for 50 kilometers in a vehicle, only two main moving parts, a power/weight ratio greater than 13 KW/Kilo, everything can be aluminum except mainshaft, bearings, seals and screws, uses no liquid coolant uses air and very little lubricant from the center, the speed of the seals or segments is 3 times smaller than in any motor, which gives 9 times more useful life +30,000 hours, it can be extrapolated to any power without losing any characteristic,. Very easy to manufacture 100% with current basic technology, all its main moving parts mounted on commercial bearings, almost zero maintenance, and more than 70 additional advantages.... As an example: Motors of 100 kilos of 1300 Kw can be made very compact without useless space. kzitem.info/news/bejne/y2mMuK1tj6OKeG0 kzitem.info/news/bejne/y2mMuK1tj6OKeA kzitem.info/news/bejne/qWionoNnf5iBp2U kzitem.info/news/bejne/moKk2IKfgXWQZmk kzitem.info/news/bejne/t6CEuJ-tqnaJhag

All the hype now is liquid piston. But I'd rather have something like this, looks familiar and single spark conbustion per rotation.looks more fuel efficient and easy on any apex seals. Built a prototype, let's test the fuel consumption per power ratio. ...And if it eliminates carbon build up .. cheers

I would love for this to work but a few things I see (if you're still working on it): 1. You are igniting after expanding again. This will result in a very low compression ratio. (except the diesel version I guess since it ignites due to compression) 2. You are compressing after igniting? What? 3. Longevity seems questionable. The sleeve bearing are very small, as are the stationary gears. 4. You still have exhaust gases going into the next cycle. 5. Inlet and exhaust ports seem way too small to be effective/efficient. 6. The jump in the epitrochoid shape will most certainly cause chattering, shortening the lifespan of the rotor housing significantly. I also wonder if the rapid acceleration and decceleration of the apex seal due to the shape of the rotor housing will cause it to wear more.

Check out the US military base 580 rotary and the Rolls-Royce developed diesel rotary back in the day that might help you understand how they make their power after expanding the a few mixture again prior to ignition. I hope this helps you

Limited time in ignition and the angle of the spark plug could fight against the rotor, ignition tming would be an issue on higher rpm. Combustion seems OK as it's got enough time for Combustion cycle.

I like what I see. I agree with Ernie Brink in that the spark plug should ignite the compressed air and fuel mixture at the tip and not the center of the rotor. That only creates vibrations. A second spark plug would also help. Add that to your model, and I wholeheartedly believe you would have a winner.
