When Mike Tyson came to see Yoshinkan Dojo, Takeno Sensei asked Mike Tyson if he would like to try it out. Mike Tyson is a professional, so of course he refused. What I mean is that Mr. Takeno had the confidence and determination to take on any challenge.

Also, as you say, the reason Takeno Sensei's techniques are so powerful is because he doesn't use superficial powers. Sensei Takeno also taught many Japanese police officers, but they did not want to receive Sensei Takeno's technique because it was too intense.

How did you use AI to translate this? I have many videos that are in Japanese and I'd like to get a better feel for what is being instructed. Thank you and thanks for uploading this!

There are several AI translation services out there. For this, I used Sonix.ai. I used a free trial and used up all my free minutes on this video. I tried another service with a DVD I have from Inoue Sensei, but the translation was even worse and they are all kind of pricey. Which is why you haven't seen any more of these from me! 😄

He is very heart warm gentleman. About 30 years ago, we were invited to Takeno-Sensei's dojo to practice aikido. I recall that the tatami mats in his dojo were exceptionally firm. As we boarded the train to return to Tokyo after the last day practice, Takeno-Sensei and his students came to the train station to seeing us off to farewell at the station.
Great instruction vid! But, your translations need some help. "Of course you shold being alcohol with you?" This is where knowing the language is indispensable.

Thanks but as it says in the video description, the translation isn’t mine. It’s done through an AI and is clearly imperfect. Would the ability to speak Japanese have been helpful here? Sure. But unfortunately, it’s not a skill I’ve picked up in my years on this earth. So AI will have to do.

Thanks for the question. Today, that disc seems to be as good as new. I, unfortunately, have a predisposition to an arthritic spine. So I probably have another disc or two that are starting to compress. I was back to work within a week or so, but that was unusually fast. First days after the surgery were slightly uncomfortable with some small muscular spasms in my upper back as discs and nerves were still decompressing, but incision site and neck area were relatively pain free. The nerve pain I had in my arm was gone almost immediately after surgery.

In our dojo, and most of Yoshinkan aikido, adults do not use colored belts. We begin as white belts and continue wearing the white belt until we reach brown belt. We do collect some belt stripes to designate certain kyu-ranks. Update: We have recently changed over to colored belts for adults as well. It seems that even grown-ups like to see those colors changing!

The scar is almost invisible now. I am so happy I was repaired to good as it gets : ) I was injured in a car accident where I was t-boned so it was a side to side whiplash. All good! Helllo Ken, I have same issue from c-6/c-7. I went to two diffident orthopedic surgeons, one recommended me mobi-c and other recommended me prodisc c. I am debating which is better. How are you doing now? I am doing fine functionally and I have stiffness and pain around my neck on back right side. How long was your procedure?
@kenossowicz1280
4 жыл бұрын
My advice would be to make your decision based on your comfort with and the experience of your surgeon. Don't decide based on the device. Either device will suit you just fine. I went in wanting Mobi-C and my surgeon said he could do it, but had more experience with Prodisc. I chose not to substitute my knowledge for that of a highly trained neurosurgeon. I liked my doctor and I said to use whichever one he was more comfortable installing which turned out to be the Prodisc-c. It's been almost 5 years and Im so glad I decided to hav it done. If you are in pain like I was, you certainly won't regret having it done. Good luck!

Thanks for your video! I had prodisc at c6-c7. My main reason for getting the surgery was weakness in my left/atrophy in my left arm. Weakness started in mid September and I wasnt able to get into surgery until mid November. I’m hoping u can fill me in on your experience with how your arm felt immediately after surgery and how long it took to get the strength back. I’m two weeks out and it doesn’t feel much different at this point. Is that similar to your experience?
@kenossowicz1280
5 жыл бұрын
Well, it’s been several years since my surgery, but what I can tell you is that two weeks is not a lot of time. I, like you, had a strength imbalance in my affected arm. I can’t immediately recall what my pain level was like in my arm immediately after surgery, but I do know that releasing the pressure on the nerve root eventually relieved any arm pain. I believe it took several months after I started working out to regain the strength lost in my affected arm. Be patient and stick with it and eventually you should be feeling like yourself again. Best of luck..

Well I have been in contact with my neurosurgeon and asked about various implants that are available. But apparently he only does either the standard fusion or he is certified for only the Prodisc C. So either I go with the Prodisc C or try to find another highly trained and skilled neurosurgeon like I have now to do the other implants.

+smaerd58 Well, like I said, I couldn't be happier with my Prodisc-C. It's a very popular device and is used by many surgeons. I tried not to substitute what I thought was best vs. the opinion of my neurosurgeon. To me, the MRI visibility issue was a small one and turned out to be a complete non-issue. Get a couple of opinions and make the best informed decision you can. Good luck.
