What about LiFe (LiFePo4 or LFP) batteries? There used to be "tx packs" (and "rx packs", which were the same thing) a decade ago but seems they didn't catch on and are much harder to find (in a sea of LiPo's) now... but they behave much nicely.

What about the voltage?
@CollinBaillie
10 күн бұрын
The specs say 4.8-10v. Usually these are "nominal" values, so there is probably a little tolerance built in there. I'd say min 4.0v - 10.5/11v max. So 4*NiMH batteries are ok (4.8v nominal, 6.0v max). 4*Alkaline AAs would also be fine. (6v nominal, 6.6v max) 2s LiPo (7.4v nominal, 8.4v fully charged) would be a good fit. 3s LiPo (11.1v nominal, 12.6v fully charged) really is overvoltage, wouldn't recommend. I'm thinking a 2s LiFe pack would be perfect. 6.4v or 6.6v nominal (depending on the marketing dept of the manufacturer) and 7.3v fully charged, A 3s LiFe would probably be ok with respect to voltage (9.6v nominal, 10.95v fully charged), it just comes down to capacity as to whether it will fit in. As for C rating, you're not going to be pulling much current. Let's say you have a 1500mah pack, you probably need 1c from a 2s LiPo pack (10 watts) OR LESS, and under 1c for a 3s LiPo pack. LiFe would be slightly higher - a 2s or 3s would probably pull 1c or under

Your specs are for the receiver. All the DumboRC transmitters (including x4, x6 & Rlaarlo rebrand) can run a fully charged 3s lipo. All of mine have without issue. The DDF-350 has options on the settings to choose transmitter battery type.

I just did an experiment... I took out the AA's and plugged in a small phone power bank into the USB C Port on the DDF-350 and it powers the Transmitter perfectly. I am going to velcro this to the base of the unit and see how it goes. So far, I have this radio paired with an Arrma 6s Mojave, a Traxxas XRT and a HPI Rally car. I'm very, very happy with the range, the features and the overall feel of the DDF-350. Anyone considering buying one won't regret it.

Hi guys, My receivers don't seem to match a certain gyro I want to use on my drift RC car. Maybe you'd know of a different receiver I could use to match the PWM frequency of my high end gyro (333hz). I'm using a x6fg receiver and even after trying multiple ones it still doesn't steer even if the gyro itself can move the servo just fine. I haven't yet tried a x6dc, x6yc or x10fg. If you can find a solution to my problem I'd be greatly grateful. Cheers
@Top-Jimmy

Hi mate, You physically have to enable the Gyro on the Receiver. Remember that any DumboRC Receiver that ends in G has a Gyro built in. So say the x6dc, & x6yc.. They do not have a Gyro. To enable the Gyro, refer to the manual that came with your receiver or Transmitter/Receiver Combo. Hope this helps mate, Take care.

Interesting...for a solution that electrical tape would have solved, you introduced a butt joint tin connection. Well, it certainly is a solution option that worked well. Thanks for the video, this maybe my issue. I found my unit had powered down on its own a few times already. @@ClementLee2000 Well, I think my issue is something else. I just check the transistor that another YT video says is the most common issue, and that didnt do it.
