Sadly, very light on details. The charger is having trouble but you are explaining to us about your brake rotors? I'd really like to hear "specifically" what it happening to the "pulley assembly".. I'm just hearing a lot of emotional distress without details. A (steady) closeup shot of the pulley issue would be fantastic. It's happened multiple times so you should be able to be specific, yes? Help us understand instead of just gassing off. Sorry. But it would be GR8T to know why you are trashing Whipple. 10,000 views and only 86 thumbs up in 2 years speakes volumes. Just saying. Cheers!

Take a look at what are the common factors in your setup. For example, you are blaming whipple for some reason. Are you getting the same shop to fix it everytime, same mechanic? After watching some vids on installing whipple on L's engines it appears the belt tensioner is not just a simple bolt on part like the oem is. Perhaps the installer is simply mixing the various bolts, nuts and spacers up. Having been a mechanic since 1975 I can tell you that a lot of mechanics may glance through instructions initially, but will not go back to the guide unless they think they screwed up. You obviously have a belt alignment issue or perhaps locktite was not used. If this was a design issue it would impact a high percentage of customers.

Are you running a Bolt on charger on the OEM Tensioner???? I'm only saying the first thing I would have done was deleted the power Stearing went manual gearbox..... And delete the A. C...... After market charger, after market tensioner, It Makes perfect sense to Me..... You know, they're twinzies.😂😂😂😂 If the tension is too tight, guess what that housing bearing for the main shaft it is not gonna last. I'm only saying I thoughthe tension on the drive.Pulley with a super charger was supposed to flap a little bit.Just a little you see what i'm saying as in not that much tension just enough to stay In time. I might have learned wrong but in my mind. It means perfect sense to me. Low tension low wear high tension. High wtake your car to a legit. Like widely renowned high performance technician and tell him to make it work. Go crazy, here's how much you got and don't skip you get what you pay for if they see you a tight a** They're gonna treat you like one and this is what you'll get 456 visits. You should have just paid the money up front and enjoyed Your baby You can't fake it till you make it.When you're paying big money you just need pay the Bill and the full bill instead Looking for knock off prices?I'll say one more time you get what you pay for if you've got a discount.You got a discount For a reason you probably obtained a rebuilt Unit, that was abused, you don't know. You got the discount right😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Belt shredding is an alignment issue. Go up in rib and make sure its aligned. Seen same issue with vortec. Fixed alignment and bracing and trouble went away. Homemade brackets. And their tech support really sucked.

It's hard for me to grasp that this is z mechanical parts issue and not an installation issue. So you're saying Whipple techs did the third install? Tell them to put a 10 rib system on it.
@dr.michaels.jenkinsjr.9233

Whipple techs did the install twice under warranty and it still failed. Later the rod that spins the compressors snapped. What is so hard to believe about a unit being a lemon? It happens.

Sorry to hear this. I have a 2.9ltr whipple rear feed on my Daily driver installed in 2012 and been running great, I had it stripped down and all seals replaced in 2022 and runs like new. Only other issue was belt slip which I just throw a new belt on and the problem was solved.

Whipple's tech repaired the pulley under warranty twice. Later the rod that spins the compressors snapped. I had to remove the entire unit and send it in to Whipple. Is that a 6 rib belt? Mine is 8 rib, on a Lightning setup, and it came with a little spacer you could use to get your belt to ride properly, if needed it goes behind the upper pulley.

I believe it was an 8 rib belt. The pulley was installed by Whipple's recommended tech twice during warranty repair and it kept failing. Later the rod that spins the compressors snapped. Whipple aka jamamactics. I left the tuner i was dealing with. After he recommend going with a Whipple. I told him I will never deal with a twin screw blower. Roots blowers are the best type of Possitve Displacement superchargers. And I have never had a problem with one. Some claim that twin screw blowers are more efficient. But a roots style with smaller rotors can make more power than a twin screw with a larger rotors. Whipple =😢 Magnuson =😊
@KevinHuff23

Nonsense! Twin screws are FAR more efficient and run at a lower temp than roots blowers.

I feel your pain bro, my Shelby GT500 has blown 2 blowers, were LITERALLY coming apart at the snout. 2nd Gen 5 it blew up and the motor died. Over 200$ in tows. Now waiting on Whipple for the 3rd and last Whipple Gen 5 3.0L I was on a Hellcat forum and the Hellcats are having the same problems. I DON'T TRUST WHIPPLE ON MY SHELBY ANYMORE. And by the way, both had less than 3K miles apiece before going south. And I don't drag race except going fast on the freeway, you know. I can tell you that Whipple cut back on resources and used cheaper materials to help boost net gain$$$. Now I have heard rumors that they are secretly going to discontinue the Gen 5 3.0L soon. I'm going Twin Turbos at this point. Won't have to worry about the heat issue anymore and large intercooler. Twin Turbo is the way to go I think.

Long story made short: The belt tensioner failed three times, then the supercharger pulley bolts broke. Each time it was repaired by Whipple's guy. The supercharger shaft broke, then Whipple rebuilt the whole unit. It's been over a year and its still sitting in the box. I doubt I'l have it reinstalled. No issues at all from the car since removing the supercharger. I think an out-of-spec shaft was the issued all along. Hard to tell, hard to prove. I simply had a lemon unit. I'll never purchase another Whipple product. Even though they "fixed it" each time, dealing with them was not a pleasurable experience. They should have owned up to the fact that every now and then a unit is just a dud and replaced the whole thing.
