One of the crispest ball strikers ever. Such a beautiful sound. And we cover it up with crap music. Dear oh dear oh dear!

I am using Lee's own video here, with the music Lee put on it. I would never have used Def Leppard anyway -- but hearing them in conjunction with watching the swing made it bearable, even fun.🤭

Well worth your time to mimic this as much as possible (pretty extreme backswing). But we can all (hopefully) achieve 90 degrees at the top of the backswing, and IF, that's IF.... you keep your hands quiet🤐 with no wrist torque/casting/purposely straightening the wrist, the club will naturally become a trebuchet/catapult, drastically speeding up at the end of the stroke, as the head goes "through" the ball. Excellent.

May I request that this discussion be moved from my channel to Roy Comeaux's channel where it belongs. This video is on my channel with Lee's permission, because I use the video in one of my articles to illustrate a point. As long as it was SuperDynamo and jsewell trading insults once a month, I let it ride. But now I am being mail-bombed by this overheated name-calling contest. Please go somewhere else with it.

SuperDynamo4 - 2 months ago you wrote "This guys swing is not good" check it. And now you say "This guys swing is not bad, don't get me wrong, its just not as good as it could be" Which is it? And for your information I happen to be an instructor...I don't necessarily agree with everything Lee does...but he is well respected and is as far from an ego maniac as you can get, also is a magnificent ball striker.

How do you label this swing as inconsistent? Most people who have seen him in person have great things to say about his ball-striking. I understand the value of a dynamic pivot, but it isn't something that all swings need. He has a very stable base, he makes a correct pivot, and he hits the ball well. It's a spinner swing! I like knowing how to make several different swing patterns work, and this one works. I understand the kinetic chain and how to maximize it.

I don't agree! You are making a typical youtube argument, where you see a guy with a golf swing that obviously works well, and you nitpick something so minor as his foot action. I've seen guys complain because a players head moved down because his back foot slid forward. Then Greg Norman not play some awesome golf. Please don't BS about his missed majors because you know you would give your left nut for his swing. I recall Norman sliding his back foot up and he didn't buy into stable feet.

You also mention stable feet. Stable feet aren't needed to play great golf. Many swings of the past had very active feet. Why must you compare every swing to Hogan?

Golf doesn't begin or end with Ben Hogan. Yes, a great pivot is an awesome thing to have in a golf swing, but not all golf swings require a dynamic pivot like Ben Hogan's or Mike Austin's. The only thing that matters in golf is your score and how well you strike the ball. Lee is known by many to be a good ballstriker. Too many people compare golf swings against their models, and forget to rate them on how well they work.

SuperDynamo4, You are correct about nothing. Lee has a very powerful swing. He breaks shafts and cracks the faces on modern drivers. Lee knows more about the human body and motion than you could imagine. Heck his kids know more about motion than most instructors of golf, baseball or softball just from being around LEE all the time. Please don't comment on what you don't know. Thanks.

You couldn't be more wrong if you tried. Do some research before you post comments about someone's golf swings and what hogan did or did not do.

Can you explain to me exactly how you can tell this swing lacks power by watching this video?

yes I would agree, same concept. Stable base plus a long arc.

Say something about the hinging action of the sling, and what that does.

@@FingerAngle The boom is our arms, the rope is the club, and the thrown object (rock?) is clubhead. The rope (club) is at a very acute angle in relation to the boom (arms), and the rock (clubhead). So in the first stages, as the boom rotates, the tip end of it (where the rope connects), is covering a much greater distance than the throwing end because it's "tucked in", or "lagging" CLOSER to the center pivot. All that distance covered by the LONG throwing arm is storing potential energy (in the stone) that is violently released towards the end, through the ever increasing radius/path of the rock (clubhead). I could be wrong though, this is just how I see it. I dropped out in 1982 at 16 so beware😉 *but went back for my GED in 2010*👍
