Here is a complete English transcript of the video. As I'm not the owner of this channel, I can't provide subtitles. I'm native German and tried my best to translate it into English, so don't expect my English to be perfect ;) Here the transcript: Report for roll call: (01:08) Attention, present the rifle. To the report, eyes right. Colonel, the members of the Military Technical School and the civilian employees, on the occasion of the handing over of the troop flag and the taking down of the service flag, lined up for ceremonial roll call. Colonel Kipping reporting. (01:55 Walking down the front) (02:23 National Anthem of the German Democratic Republic) Address: (03:07) Order of the day by the Minister for Disarmament and Defence, for the integration of the National People's Army (Armed Forces of the GDR) into the Federal Armed Forces (Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Germany), on the occasion of the accession of the German Democratic Republic to the Federal Republic of Germany on 2 October 1990. At midnight on 2 October, the National People's Army ceases to exist, but not its soldiers and civilian employees. With the accession of the German Democratic Republic to the Federal Republic of Germany, a new chapter in the history of the German people begins on 3 October 1990. You, as soldiers and civilian employees of the National People's Army, belong to the Bundeswehr as soon as the accession takes effect, in accordance with the Unification Treaty. However, it remains the merit of the members of the National People's Army to carry out the task given to them by the constitution... (Here is a cut in the video) (04:34)...in line with the social upheavals in the German Decomcratic Republic, the members of the National People's Army embarked on a comprehensive military reform and actively helped to shape the course towards far-reaching disarmament measures. For the fulfilment of their military duties towards the fatherland and their readiness... (Re-cut in video) (05:04) For the majority of you, the task will be to serve the united German state faithfully, to guarantee the security of the German people as well as to participate in the preservation of peace in Europe. In connection with the merger of the Bundeswehr and the National People's Army in accordance with the Unification Treaty, not a few... (loud helicopter, speech not understandable) (05:40) ...we have fulfilled our oath of allegiance to our people, to our German Democratic Republic. I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank you for your comradely, soldierly conduct and actions in training as well as in providing security. End of the speech. (06:16) Handing over of the troop flag: Rifles off! Hand over the troop flag. Hand over the troop flag. Rifle over! Squad turn! (06:53 Troop flag marches out). (07:33) Take down the service flag: Take down flag! (08:57) At the guard house: I'll say nothing. What is there to say?! He says nothing either. He won't say anything. (09:19) Report from the guardhouse: Captain, hand over the guard. Lieutenant, took over guard. (09:26) Roll call the next day - report: Eyes right to report! Colonel, the units and civilian employees of the military technical school lined up for roll call on the occasion of the takeover of the Bundeswehr command. Colonel Spichwig reporting. (or something like that, he has a strong accent). Order of the day by the Federal Minister of Defence on German unification on 3 October 1990. On 3 October 1990, the German people reunited as one state. Walls and borders have fallen. More than 4 decades of violent separation have not been able to break the Germans' sense of belonging together. The population of the former German Democratic Republic affirmed and actively supported the accession to the Federal Republic of Germany with a large majority. In doing so, they opted for the political order of the Grundgesetz (Constitution of the Federal Republic of Germany). We are all committed to our country with its free, democratic and constitutional state. our united Germany is firmly integrated into the Western community of values. We are members of the European Community (predecessor organisation of the European Union) as well as of the Atlantic Alliance (NATO) and the Western European Union... (Cut in video) (11:17) ...and to stand up today means at the same time to stand up for freedom, for democracy, for the rule of law and for cooperation with our allies in Europe and North America. It also means deepening cooperation with the Soviet Union with the young democracies in Central and Eastern Europe on the basis of the treaties now concluded. The division of our country has been overcome. Now it is also a matter of eliminating what divides us in our thinking. The soldiers face a special challenge in this respect; they must find a way to live together for each other. The reduction of tensions makes it possible to conclude disarmament agreements and to reduce the size of our Bundeswehr. We will have 340,000 soldiers in a united Germany in a few years.... (Re-cut in the video.) (12:25) ...not to resign, but to make a new start, to actively participate in building up the economy in the new federal states. As far as we can, we want to support this far-reaching conversion through qualification. For those who apply for service in the Bundeswehr, I expect a willingness to learn, a willing acceptance of responsibility and an open approach to new tasks. In 1990, I took over the command and control of the armed forces of a united Germany as Federal Minister of Defence. At the same time, the military constitution enshrined in the constitution applies to the whole of Germany. (13:17)(National Anthem of the Federal Republic of Germany) (14:21) (March out)
