Back in the 1980s, there were four big gay dances held at the Masonic Temple, which was a spectacular venue for dancing. I went often and got many great memories from them, one of them being the premiere of this video. I didn’t dance, I just watched. Still get chills when I hear it.

Just heard this on the radio and listened to it properly for the first time as opposed to hearing it playing in the background. The arrangements on this are amazing and I immediately thought this has got to be a Trevor Horn production, then who pops at the end of the video? Mr Buggles himself 😂

Rather a neat trick with the female mannequins' spinning heads. I'm guessing that bit's two video images -- the extras/dancers/whatever from the neck down in the lower image, and just the heads in the upper image. With the scarfs to cover the join. Not technically brilliant, maybe, but ingenious.

Fantastic,1985 great for music, the worst year of my life 12 years old gay cystnic acny, known as the leaper at school amongst other things, did not know how much damage was done until 1990 in a bar in London this gorgeous guy said I was the best looking guy he had ever seen, felt so excited, then my reality kicked in his name was Rob from Oxford really nice guy such a violent opposite to what I knew won't give his last name,I couldn't cope, tried to kill myself, stayed alone ever since, but at least I have friends now as I get older,I know people have been through worse things ❤️❤️❤️

Wow, just Wow, faultless video, all the small added background harmonics, the only other singer I can think of that did this was George Michael. I sometimes saw them in Dorking when recording. AS another posted - came from an era when they wrote and performed these unforgettable tunes that stand up 40 years later...along with the hair on your arm.

In 1979 this was groundbreaking, self produced by Godley & Creme. After this, they produced for the likes of Ultravox, the Police, Yes, Duran Duran, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Huey Lewis and the News and Wang Chung
