Wawrinka has no haters, in his four big titles he beat Novak twice, nadal and federer

Both here and uso 2013, stan had a chance to go up 2 sets to zero with a break up and serving for the set. He lost both matches

Berdych played lights out and still lost. But wawrinka wasn’t able to hit the spectacular winners against him that he was hitting against Novak in the previous match. Also, wonderful sportsmanship from Berdych at the end. He was kind of a jerk at the start of his career but retired a gentleman.

I wish stan was able to maintain this level in all his matches. He would have been the big4 if not big 3. Taking over andy murray and possibly nadal.

After watching it more than once, I would indeed choose this match as the greatest one of all time. Hardly any weakness within so many hours by any of the two, but continously incredible level of play until the very end. I can't even think of any match between the Great Three the last 20 years that carried such an intensity. And as quite often, the match point is a wrap-up of the entire match. Though The Man gives it absolutely everything in this match of his life, the machine somehow brings back exactly as much, and almost by tragicomical chance pulls his opponent to the net to place the final blow.

Year 2024 Wawrinka at 100% was UNBEATABLE!!! I HAVE NEVER UNDERSTOOD AND NEVER WILL, WHY STAN WAWRINKA HAS NOT A FEW MORE GRAND SLAMS TROPHIES UNDER HIS BELT. 2)I ALSO HAVE NEVER SEEN A TENNIS GAME REACHING THIS LEVEL, ( QUALITY, INTENSITY) I HAVE SEEN MANY MANY GAMES, NOT JUST QUARTERS, SEMIES OR FINALS. THIS TENNIS GAME HAD 2 WINNERS : STAN AND NOVAK . IN MY MODEST OPINION, THIS WAS THE BAST TENNIS GAME EVER PLAYED !! ONLY A "TENNIS GOAT" COULD HAVE BEATEN WAWRINKA AT THIS LEVEL. I consider Stan Wawrinka THE BEST PLAYER EVER !! HIS WEAKNESS WAS CONSISTENCY . IN FACT THE MOST BEAUTIFUL, MOST POWERFALL BACKHAND OF ALL TIMES WAS HIS !

Everyone was talking about Stans monster backhand (with reason). But if you watch this you see how he broke Novak - with his forehand. When both worked, fore- and backhand, then he was almost unstoppable, even for peak Novak.

The balls were different. Nowadays balls make a different sound. These balls here sound a lot like the old model used at Rolad Garros (babolat RG).

Damnnnnn! Both of them in disbelief they're stuck in a 5th set with how well they're playing. How Nole digs out of the 2nd set when Stan was just pounding him on the ropes. And then Stan to escape the 4th alive. I forget they didn't play 5th set tie breaks. That's crazy.. to think his Rafa match went longer?!! The only reason this match isn't talked about more is because it's just 4th round match. If this was the finals or even semis.. this easily competes with the Rafa match.

Personally I think since they slowed all the courts and balls down to make Rafa and Djokovick more competitive with Federer this absolutely hurt Wawrinka (and Federer). Wawrinka plays with much more power and actually GOES for shots as opposed to just returning shots like Djokovick and Nadal. They are boring as fuck. They look like cowards on the courts......even though they win more. I believe this is a flaw in the current situation of tennis because very few fans in that stadium was cheering for Djokovick like they were Wawrinka. Why Wawrinka? They hardly know him. He rarely wins. But fans naturally are drawn to people who try to ACHIEVE as opposed to try not to fail. It's a boring fucking lame ass way to look at the world and especially to win tennis matches. There is a reason everyone hates Novak and he has so few fans. His game is lame...despite him being the 'goat' lol. As if

The only thing Stan lacked was the touch and variety, almost no drop shots in these highlights, the consistency and power and that one hander were incredible though, Djokovic just a better defender and touch more consistent off the backhand, but watching this almost made me want to switch to a one hander, has anyone ever had a better one hander?

Stan one of the very few players who, at his best, could hit through Djokovic's baseline defence. He really was like a battleship firing heavy artillery. Of all the big 3, Stan had the best record against Djokovic (22.2% win record for Stan). Djokovic couldnt rush Stan from the net like Federer could (11.5% win record), or knock Stan out of his comfort zone with lefty topspin like Nadal could (13.6% win record). Inyerestingly, Dominic Thiem also has a similar "battleship" heavy groundstroke game as Wawrinka, and has won 41.6% of his matches with Djokovic
