Question… is there a way to permanently lower it a couple inches? I have read where people have to let air out of their tires to get it in a 7 foot standard garage door with a lifted onward club car. In a community that you can use these golf carts as your regular vehicle it would be a pain in the ass to have to lower it every time you wanted to go in and out of your garage. I would buy my golf cart with a windshield, as probably makes a difference regarding lowering frame.

Is there any reason you couldn't cut the opposite direction so the roof folds forward?

I have a Club Car DS with an extended top on it. From ground to top of highest point in roof is 78". I need to lower the roof to 64" so that I can get the cart in the building. How do I determine where to cut the supports for the roof at the 45 degree angle?

How far down the post you measure to do the 45 angle cut I’m gonna use 8 inch flat stock because I don’t need it to collapse that much what do you think

Great job! I like the use of the pins instead of bolts & wingnuts others have used. Maybe a little more rattle going down the road, but much quicker/easier.

Great Idea, I am looking at a similar idea for storage in an area prone to flooding where I need to get the cart 3' off the ground with a 7'-7.5' max clearance ground to floor. I wonder if there is a process to do this but to bring the roof down no taller than the height of the steering wheel? I understand the Windscreen poses additional difficulty but I'm in the process of replacing a Club Car Precedent after a flood (out of pocket costs unfortunately) and want to be able to protect the new one from flooding in the future without having to store it elsewhere. Alternatively a quick connect / disconnect process using similar ideas to provide that clearance.

the nylon washers are placed where exactly?

In between the actual roll cage of the cart and the "flat stock arms" Just helps it rotate without binding.

@@KonCity22 Yes put them on both sides. I think they were 3/8" bolt's. Can't remember for sure how long they were but you could measure just make sure to account for the thickness of the nut. I was think 3 or 4 inches long. Use a lock nut and don't tighten all the way so it is loose enough to move.
