1987 that’s when I was born. I got into TISM in my late teens. I don’t know, I grew up in Maine , no where near Springvale but I always wondered why they’d reference this small Maine town. Just cuz it’s one of the more remote places in the states I guess. Anyway, even as a teenager I guess I was drawn to their fatalistic themes, time only marched forward and death comes for us all. Make the best of those forty years… or don’t.

I’m 51 living in the USA. This is one of my favorite bands of all time. I discovered these guys about 5 years ago. I can’t believe this band weren’t huge in the States. So many great songs.

A lot of what they sang about was Australian culture and politics, not super surprised considering the tarantino level of language and context too made it not very marketable either haha

Man, every single track on this playlist kicks off memories of my youth, and I've never known it was you, Wally Badarou, who composed this. I bow to you, so glad I found you back !!!

I remember hearing this song on the top 8 at 8 with John Peters on Eon FM in 1988 at the age of 13 and loving it. About to turn 40 and think it is the most unheralded and underrated classic Australian song ever

Thanks Roaster ... clearly I'd drunk a bit much Armagnac whilst posting that. I have to say that Labour have done pretty well under the circumstances. I will probably vote for them since Tony is such a tosser.

Yeah it is terrible what they've done - no access to health care, civil war over a lack of resources, guerilla warfare tearing our country apart, our children are either stolen to be placed in rebel forces or conscripted into the state military, there is education for the rich only, the vast majority of the population out of work, nuclear and environmental disasters littering our coast line. We're really suffering in Australia because of "failed Labor policies". Get a grip - we're doing fine.

I went on a midnight group ride [bicycles] with people I hadn't seen in a year. They all cheered and hugged me. They didn't mind that I'd lost touch and so we cavorted throughout the city trading stories and impromptu sprint races. At one point I was apart from the group at a particular stop and I saw the whole city from a high vantage point. There were hundreds of thousands of people too tiny to see in front of me. They were all experiencing their own epic dramas larger than I'll ever know.
