Thanks! I’ve done this pattern many times in the past, but had forgotten it and needed a refresher. I just skipped to the parts I needed since I’m not new to knitting, but this is excellent for beginners and folks like me who just needed a refresher. Thanks!

Could anyone explain to me the way she casts on and why? Casting on just by twisting the yarn on your index and sliding the needle in the loop is much simpler in my head but does the way she does it make a first row of stitches ? thank you :)

Thank you for the lesson! Haven’t knitted in years and this was a great project to relearn knitting. BTW at the end instead of cutting and weaving the thread right away, I crocheted a chain and slip stitched back into first chain before cutting thread to create a hanger for the dish rag.

Avid crocheter here learning to knit: 2 questions that may be dumb but I’m just learning. 1. Why did you do 4 specifically to cast on? Is this standard for every project? Why 4? 2. How do you know which stitch to increase? Does it matter?

Another question: at what point do you need longer knitting needles or whatever they call the ones with the cord attached?? Sorry for all the questions 😅

I’m seeing a lot of similarities to crochet- increase, decrease, and slip stitch were all similar to crochet! You’re a great teacher, this made so much sense and I think I could make one!!

I just found you (6 years), and am relearning how to knit. I've always just knit dishcloths with turning, and then knit and purl. This is such a wonderful pattern! Thank you for explaining the steps!
