A New Yorker would never pronounce sausage --Saashige, . Coppola missed that one😃

That scene went from talking about family, love, food, and death--all in a little over a minute. Epic.

One of the reasons that The Godfather will always be imo the better movie vs 2. Clemenza vs Frankie Vito vs Roth De Niro vs James Caan Its not even close the 1st two battles and imo all the flashbacks just didn't do anything for me. All i think is ok..... when can we get back to the main story. De Niro was great but Sonny was so believable, visceral, and it fit 100% into the story.

Paulie was Clemenza's protégé. So Clemenza being told to do it was meant to be an act of loyalty. This gives so much more depth to that look Sonny gives at the end. Much as it needed to be done and as much as Clemenza was eager to make him pay, Sonny knows to be humble in what he just asked Pete to do. Paulie wasn't nobody to him, that was his boy.

The one thing I didn't like about the films is how the Corleone children treated Clemenza. I mean he's literally Sonny's godfather and Vito's oldest accomplice..Sonny learned much of what he knows from the guy but speaks to him like he's some lowly intern

"Hey come over here kid, learn something - you never know, you might have to cook for twenty guys some day" This was a major turning-point line for me as a 2000s teen with pretty narrow and juvenile interests(superheroes etc). I constantly blew off adults who were doing mundane stuff around the house like this, but something about the way Clemenza said this line.... it was like a wakeup call, and I've always taken the time to stop, pay attention, and learn any given thing in these dynamics ever since, no matter how mundane or random.
