Excited to see your videos. We are in the process of ordering our Beneteau Antares 11. Should be here by next spring. 🤞. Keep them coming.

Great videos! We are out of Kingman as well - I'll look for the Pretty Swell next time I'm down at the marina. Looking forward to watching more of your adventures.

What slip are you in? I’m on 555 all the way out front (then to the left as you walk out).

@@prettyswelladventures We are on mooring R5, a Ranger Tug. If I outgrow the Ranger I would definitely consider an Antares 11. I'll stop by to introduce myself when I see you at 555!

Great idea to post these videos. Much appreciated. I was considering the Antares 11 for the Puget Sound.

There’s an owner of an A11 up there who belongs to the Facebook group for Antares 11, and he recently did a month-long (?) cruise north from there, I think even reaching the southern tip of Alaska, & back. Come join the group! You don’t have to be an owner to join - being interested is enough. (Be sure to indicate that, and acknowledge the group rules, when you request to join.) This was great. I was wondering how the seakeeper would fit into such a smallish cabin cruiser. The antares 11 is a consideration, as well as a saxdor 320gtc. The seakpr does take considerable room, and fore planning.

We’ve now had two round-trip cruises on 2-4’ seas; the SK is invaluable if your passengers value a feeling of safety. The storage tradeoff is worth it to us.

The Saxdor has a different “mission” IMO.

Thanks for sharing. We're considering an Antares 11 as well. How do you like the boat so far? We're also in the northeast.

Two trips to Nantucket so far, both awesome. Tomorrow we go to Cutttyhunk; we’ll do another video after that. The nice thing is that the size is both seaworthy to travel in, and very comfortable to live on. We love it so far.

Cuttyhunk trip really reinforced that this an awesome boat for us. Judy said “I may not like making the journey over rough Buzzards Bat seas, but I’m really enjoying “glamping’ on the boat. This is super comfortable & capable.” (Of course, “glamping” is just our term for “glamourous camping”, and maybe understates how comfortable & awesome the boat is.) Plus, we had 2-3’ seas on the way there, and Judy handled it well, even though she would tell you it’s not her favorite thing to do. All good news. We chilled in the fly 2x in the evenings during this trip, our first time spending time on the fly. It was fantastic, even on at 10-15mph breezy day. Sooo awesome up there. (Still haven’t driven from up there. Still too cold; 60s whenever we’re motoring.) Buy this boat. It’s awesome.

How much was the total install job
@prettyswelladventures
3 ай бұрын
I want to be somewhat guarded in how I answer that for a variety of reasons. The Seakeeper 3 - necessary for a Fly - is in the $30-40k range (the 2 is $10k less and sufficient for a non-Fly); your installation cost will vary a lot based on location in the US, but will be in the same range +/- $10k I suspect.

We are gonna buy same boat. In a 23 or 24. Should we buy what's here in u.s or is enough saved to do what yall did?

Not sure what you’re asking; we bought ours here in the US. (Still don’t have delivery; it’s technically ready, but the season is over here, and boats are coming out of the water, so we’re not putting ours in until next season.)

Really excited to see your progress. Love this boat and have narrowed it down to 3 myself. Antares 11, Regal 36 XO, and Jeanneau NC 1095. I personally would have tried to come to an arrangement with the dealer and kept the engines and asked for some other concessions of some form in the way of service etc. Missing out on almost an entire boating season just seems to be a lot to give up over an engine color. Life is short. Really excited to hear about the sea keeper because that is a must have for me no ifs ands or buts and the biggest reason the Regal is still on my short list.

Thanks for commenting. We definitely debated whether to stick with the black engines or wait for the white. Part of the decision was that we had already been through a couple of delays, so the season was already more than half over, and we knew we wouldn’t get the boat underway until September anyway - even with the black engines. Given the shortness of the season in Buzzards Bay, we have mostly resigned to just let it go for the year. But, definitely a nuanced decision, and I can see your point - especially since I’m not a young man. 😎 As far as the Seakeeper goes, updates won’t come until next season. But, my wife definitely has issues with motion, so a Seakeeper was an Absolute requirement for us, too. At the moment, the big thing showing up for me is that the Beneteau factory locations for a bunch of gizmos in the lazarette are going to need relocated. I’m confident the marina who will be doing our install can do the job well. They looked at another A11 before we even purchased our boat in order to sort out if it was even possible, and whether we needed a Seakeeper 2 or 3, given that we have a flybridge. (We bought the 3.) There is definitely a lot of complicated battery & gizmo moving, which is especially complicated because we bought the generator, which takes up the forward portion of the lazarette. We will keep you up-to-date when the season begins. Thanks again for watching.

Sorry your 2023 boating season will be lost. Your situation is one that I avoided by moving to Florida. My boating season is 365 days a year. I sold my bow rider and now looking at the Beneteau as a weekender. I look forward to staying updated on your adventure. Best of luck.

Thanks for the good wishes. We are planning to use the boat (eventually) as a way to escape our short season here by taking it to FL & spending 4-6 weeks on it during the cold up here (vs renting / buying / moving, because we like Cape Cod). But, we’ve gotta have a boat first! 🥴🤦♂️😁

Maine boater here. Covid delays hit us hard. Ordered 2020, came in Oct 2021, splashed spring 2022. Transducer under generator held things up. Second season now….Worth the wait! It’s a great couples boat. Haven’t seen another up here….I know allocations are hard to come by. Good luck!

I’m bracing to more rigging tweaks after the engines arrive, so I’ve written off the season. But thanks for the reinforcement about its awesomeness! Have fun with yours for the remainder of the season. Thanks for watching. And pls subscribe to help with video boosting 😁

It won't be ready in September, even if the motors turn up! There'll be something else. Note that the reverse cycle a/c warms the boat - we usually run through November. I would leave it in the dealer shop and take delivery on the spring - when the warranties start!

I’m bracing myself for just what you say - that sea trials will turn up more stuff, delaying it more. I haven’t yet truly broached the subject of making sure the warranties start in the spring if handover doesn’t happen. Probably better do so.

If Beneteau and your dealer can give you a hard date on when the boat will be finished, then I would say go ahead and use it this year, provided that date fits into a reasonable usage window for this season. Good luck and I look forward to future videos.

Ouch. I guess I need to keep my woes in perspective. Beneteau says that Mercury’s “supply chain backlog is easing”, and Beneteau is seeing increasing numbers of engines each month. This gives me some hope that the “September allocation” assurance is probable. Thanks for grounding me.

I would have ate the cost not covered by the refund; you spent X amount on the boat already; plus your KZitem channel hinges on the boat and content for the summer! After a few days out on the water the color of the engines as well as the partial refund would have been a distant memory.

It was a big enough money delta (over $10k) that it gave me pause. But, you’re the second to say so.
