I taught they said "I'll give a toe tushy" at first. Had to turn on the subtitles just to be sure...and she won 98 points...
(While the original poem is about friendship between classmates, the Japanese lyrics are about feelings for a former teacher and encouragement for career advancement. This is because in Europe and the United States, there was no idea that a teacher was a person of character and should be respected, and there was no teaching in the field of education that saw success in life as an honorable thing to do. Which is better for each person, but the reason why Japanese lyrics are rarely sung in schools these days is probably because Japanese lyrics are no longer suitable for the present age. Personally, I feel a little resistance to the Japanese lyric, "Stand up, raise your name, and cheer up." This is because I believe that the purpose of a child's education and learning is not to make a name for themselves. But if you listen to it without thinking too much about it, it's still a wonderful and emotional masterpiece.) (Original)> 1. We part today to meet, perchance, Till God shall call us home; And from this room we wander forth, Alone, alone to roam. And friends we've known in childhood's days May live but in the past, But in the realms of light and love May we all meet at last. 2. Farewell old room, within thy walls No more with joy we'll meet; Nor voices join in morning song, Nor ev'ning hymn repeat. But when in future years we dream Of scenes of love and truth, Our fondest tho'ts will be of thee, The school-room of our youth. 3. Farewell to thee we loved so well, Farewell our schoolmates dear; The tie is rent that linked our souls In happy union here. Our hands are clasped, our hearts are full, And tears bedew each eye; Ah, 'tis a time for fond regrets, When school-mates say "Good Bye" かたい握手に心は満ち 目には涙があふれる ああ 惜別の時 級友たちよ さらば <日本語詞> 1.

I heard this in Fruits Basket a year or so ago and it left an impression on me, came across it again in Blue Period so I finally found it! Graduated three years ago, but I still get so nostalgic about it They weren’t easy days, but a lot simpler and there’s a lot of people and things I miss. Trying to enjoy today though. Never know how precious something is until it’s gone so, maybe today is just as precious as well :’)

There are many different parts between Japanese and English. But I know why, because they have distinguished ways to express things. I speak well of him, the translator. He worked hard anyway. Still you must know what it says originally in Japanese when you learn Japanese and it's written by a bit old Japanese. There are so many words which we don't use longer. :)
