The phone booth reference gets me. The movies from that point on disregarded the phone booth change from the comics. Lol.

It’s so brilliant how they handled this scene. You have to acknowledge the fact that Superman is in a ridiculous outfit. Who’s someone that could appreciate that? A pimp, of course! This is one of those jokes that came from the Newmans’ script that survived until the final cut. It also helps that it goes by so quick. Other films like to dwell on bits like this but this one is in and out. Also, it’s very quotable!

If George Reeves got to see Superman:The Movie when it was released in December,1978,he would‘ve liked seeing Noel Neill,who portrayed Lois Lane on the Superman TV-Series in the 1950‘s,making an uncreditted cameo as the mother of Lois Lane as a girl,and also see as the father of Lois,Kirk Allyn,who portrayed Superman in 2 movie serials before George Reeves had the role for tv.

In the 70s the phone companies were converting outdoor phone booths to "walk-ups". The look of frustration on Clark Kent's face is priceless as he realizes he'll have to change somewhere else.

Fun fact: For those who don't know, the part where Clark looks at the phone booth is a tribute to the black-and-white Superman show in the 60s.
@landcommander1981
9 жыл бұрын
Also it dealt with the changes- in the 1960s, the phone booths had opaque panels whereas the modern (1978) booths had clear glass panels, allowing anyone to see who was inside the booth. But that was a great touch, and an awesome nod to George Reeves' Superman.
