The fact that Brian is talking about how important Jimi Hendrix is at this point just shows how great Brian always was ! And how he points out that Hey Joe is not representative of what Jimi can really do. Brian had Jimi play at his Saville Theatre in London several times and Jimi was playing there the day Brian was found dead

This man's ego and non-stop babbling almost ruined any chance Brain Epstein had to express himself (with historical significance) mere months before Brian's death silenced him forever.

It is true what they say about the press/media.. The only real truth in the media/press is the date and the weather and often they get that wrong. All the rest is mostly gossip and speculation. The media is all about getting sales and Peoples attention. Because of that, the media is sensationalist. Life is not like that at all. It's just another day, very like yesterday and most of the rest of the content is just good old fashioned advertising. People believe the news in the media at their peril. There is nothing new under the sun. I dont know who first said this but it's particularly spot on when speaking about news and the media."There is nothing new under the Sun". The truth is.. life is so mundane and "Everyday" in this man,s opinion. People will do and say anything just to Spice it up but it's definately nothing out of the ordinary and for sure it's nothing that deverves the attention of any real journalist..Remember.. "There is nothing new under the Sun".

To think he would be dead five months later, this stands as a very important interview. Unfortunately Murray the K, instead of giving the spotlight to Eppy, goes on way to much with his own perspective and analysis, when he should have just asked his questions and let Brian go.

George Martin Says In This book his biography,All You Need is Ears,There's No Doubt Lennon and McCartney Were good Musicians,They Had Good Musical Brains and The Brain Is Where Music Originates,It Has Nothing To Do With Your Fingers,As It Happened They Could All Play Their Own Instruments Very Well,And that Paul is an excellent music all- arounder, probably the best bass guitar-player there is, a brilliant guitarist,a first class drummer and a competent piano player. George Martin said in The Beatles early days he tried to learn to play the guitar in order to have a better musical communication between him and The Beatles, but he couldn't learn it and gave it up,but he says that John and Paul learned to play the piano far more quickly than he was able to master their instrument.

I'm really surprised that Murray asked if The Who were the first to smash their guitars and that Brian said yes, because it was actually The Beatles who smashed their guitars in Hamburg Germany when they played 8 hours a night in the sleazy strip clubs from 1960-1962 years before The Who.

It's sad Brian never lived to see one of his other bands at that time The Bee Gees rise to Ultra stardom selling hundreds of millions of records far far more than the who or the cream combined ever sold.I wonder what he wold have thought about Saturday Night Fever and The Bee Gees moving to Contempary R&B/soul.

Epstein was a financial disaster for The Beatles, they lost a massive amount through his mismanagement, they were continually ripped off to a ludicrous degree because he had no idea how to negotiate, no idea as to what percentage they could actually get and he would not delegate to those who did.

Surprisingly good interview for an American DJ who obviously brushed up his Ps & Q's to interview a British gentleman, which he was. John told Brian to count the money & leave the music to them, which he did but must have hurt him to be told to stay away from Abbey Road. The Beatles in hindsight should have been more considered to Brian & realise he now felt rejected by those he moved heaven and earth to get them a record contract & planned their every move out of the studio. They were lucky to have him & should have been more grateful really.

I've commented elsewhere on other channels. However I'd like to add here. Many people say Brian was okay the week he died. However his dad only died 6 weeks or so before Brian did. Brian's voice here is not the articulate man he was in the early days. I'm no expert but I'd say he's suffering from early stages of depression. Seems like he's heard much of the Qs before. Personally I've always doubted the Beatles originality. Even Lennon called it Beatles myth. I think they were manufactured eventually. Couldn't have written all those songs in such a short time frame. They were average musicians and even George Martin employed session musicians in their early days. Initially rejecting them saying they were rubbish to Brian. George Martin was the composer of most of the tunes. He even played piano on lots and lots of their famous songs. Eleanor Rigby was his idea. S'thing doesn't seem true about Brian's death. Did he know something and was too late to go back. Or was he killed off? One day the truth will come out when they're all gone. It'll be a massive thing....ask Fauls ex wife from Newcastle. She was freaked out on breakfast TV years ago.

They wrote all their songs- especially when you see the documentary Get Back. Plus you can see how they all have their own style. You can’t make that part up. George Martin didn’t write Eleanor Rigby, he just worked on the arrangement for the strings. He arranged a lot of things but that’s not writing …arrangement is arrangement.

After this Sgt Pepper is released & once could scarcely consider Mr Epstein suicidal. Sorry - the persecution of the Beatles & any other anti-war artists or activists by intel spooks must have been real. Did they threaten sexual blackmail of Mr Epstein, the way they did MLK?
