This job is way easier to do from the bottom. And you dont have you disconnect the throttle body.

Man I wish you would have shown what you took off and where. Someone followed your video to tear apart their starter and could not finish the job and now I have 4 wires to figure out where they go and where they connect to

My patriot has a red wire for hot. A black wire with ground and the normal harness plus an orange wire. Any idea where the heck they go?

I’m having the same problem right now the lights are on but doesn’t start, I just want to make sure it’s the starter before I buy it and replace, was yours the starter back then?
@charlesdavis4946

I did the exact same way you had demonstrated the first flipping the starter around and bring it out and then taking the wires off I just disconnected the ground from the body and I brought the entire starter out with the wires already connected then I disconnected and reconnected them to the new starter and slid it all back in in place

The first think you should disconnect the battery , because the starter wire connected directly to the battery

Your video was EXACTLY what i needed to do, I wish it was easier to search or hit on because this did the exact trick to take it out..not sure if you mentioned the 15MM was all you need to take out and 13 MM only AFTER you turn and flip starter as last step before pulling out..but this was perfect video

Agree, I've replaced all of this. IMO, likely due to the small width of the tire. Means torque spec is super important when tightening lug nuts.

Yes. But it would have been even more helpful to see you put the wires on amd then fit it back in.
@xKontractKi11er

Because wires are self explanitory, put em back how you found them. Same with taking off and installing starter
