Truly one of the greatest scenes of the movie! And most movies tbh! Also very good advice for guys, be brave enough to hold a girls gaze. You do need to look like mr daniels tho :D

I got addicted to summer glau because of this series. Very Beautiful lady, This spot is so beautiful to watch. Loved her with the dance scene in firefly series. I knew she danced but didn't see it until this series and firefly.

The lost art of courtship. Own it. “Why you staring at me?” “Because you’re the most beautiful thing I’ve seen.” It either works or she asks you to stop and you move on.

Rewatched LotM last night. What a great film. I wished more for Uncas & Alice. The frontier was brutal, as Magua. I experienced the ranges when stationed in NC. I'll always remember this film if I ever hike the NC wilderness again.

You can't see due to the poor quality of the video, but when she asks "what are you looking at sir" her expression is of genuine annoyance. When he responds she's surprised because is the first time in the movie when she realizes he likes her.

That knee-bending imperious look at the beginning of the scene. "What are you looking at, sir?" "I'm looking at you, miss." A book could be written about that alone. How she starts with the assumption that a man should feel shame for staring. Even though she is the one who summoned him with her glance. That he keeps doing it, and softly answers her question, respecting the symmetry of it, answering in kind. Softly, and yet with the audacity only a real man could have, rejecting all notions of shame she had been expecting. He knows to assume the responsibility of his feelings. He lives up to them. It is beyond his reach, and he knows to accept that. Confront that. With all the strength and gentleness only a mature being can have. How she looks down, slightly taken aback. And, takes it in a few perfect seconds, then comes ROARING back with a straight gaze that pierces through everything, staring back right into his soul, with the silence thus required.

Let's please not diminish the talent of truly "great ballerinas" by misapplying the label. Summer, at her dancing peak, was a pre-professional ballet student. She has good lines but it appears she doesn't have good feet and possibly lacks natural flexibility. She was never going to be a successful ballet dancer.

😍😍😍😍 This (from wiki) explains... "Glau received a scholarship to a ballet company and was homeschooled from grades 3 to 12 to accommodate her ballet training.[3] In addition to her classical ballet training, she studied tango and flamenco. After a broken toe ended her dancing career" 🥺🥺🥺😭😭😭💔💔💔

Unfortunately wiki isn't always clear. First, Summer likely didn't receive a scholarship to a "ballet company", rather it was to a company's feeder school. Dancers are hired by a company, not put on scholarship, and they're certainly not hired at age 8 or 9. Second, which company school? If not specific, it's akin to saying someone received a scholarship to a university.
