Best western Ever! Cary Grant greatest Cowboy of All Time!!! What! Better than Billy Connolly? Aye! Why? Cos he fell on his ass in the middle of a Rodeo!🤣😂🤣😂
Masterful acting and storytelling. Sissy Spacek is a total bitch in this scene and Tom Wilkinson comes off as a benevolent wise old man. The cinematography is top notch as it follows them around in the midst of their argument 10/10.

'Zadok the Priest' is used very cleverly in the film: The first part including the first line of the Choir when the king is restrained in a chair: "Zadok the Priest and Nathan the Prophet anointed Solomon king.", echoing the coronation in which the king is first seated in St. Edward's chair after being anointed by the Archbishop of Canterbury. When the king has made a recovered and is giving a short surprise speech to Parliament in some courtyard of the Palace of Westminster, this piece is picked up at the line "And all the people rejoiced."

I’ve seen this movie about three times and I’ve seen the opening credits about 100 times the scene in the church with the towns people. They all look ashamed for themselves and the way the bad guys are dressed at the airport at the train station. I’ve seen these guys in dozens of movies and they usually dress like thisdressing, not like these modern cowboy movies, but everybody is so clean and shaven

I love how the girls selling candy was exactly the little time out they needed to stop fighting and truly embrace one another. It also opened up her to telling Matt that she cannot bear seeing her son's killer walking around town. Matt did the right thing and took no joy from it. I love the ambiguity of the ending and hope they went on and enjoyed life after this.

Watched this beginning to end for the first time on TCM. Interesting portrayal of human nature. I understand why the Duke didn't care much for it, as the protagonist looks scared shitless the whole movie. I quite enjoyed it, though, and probably more realistic than a lot of Wayne's films. I'll talk Eastwood's stoicism any day. Never saw him skeered.

The film was truly successful at it's time, box office and everything; but sadly was a "that Miramax" acquisition... At the end is one of those small budget proyects to be faily recognized at the moment but too small to become legendary (in my mind it is, actually)
