Completely unnecessary to remove the drive shaft. Just take off the covers, and you’ll see the engine mount bolts. You would need an extra long extension or two long ones and you can get the nut from the top without removing a thing as well. After removing the nuts, remove the torx bolts from the mount, raise the engine either using a jack or an engine support bar and replace. Follow in reverse order to install new mounts. That simple.

I couldn't see any other way to create room to squeeze out the mount without front shaft removal. Remember this is xdrive. You don't have to remove shaft on rwd. If you know another way, would be nice for you to share with us.

@@hsvehiclerepairservice1271 Yes you have to leave the passenger side all bolted up so when you raise the engine the engine gets tweaked allowing for more room to remove the mount. You also have to remove fuel line brackets

I just can't see how only removing the fuel line brackets would give enough clearance to squeeze the mount through. Personally a quick 8 bolts for less of a squeeze and fight is worth it. Thanks for the input. Hopefully we can make the next views job easier 😁
