Hi! So me and my friend are planning on going out there next weekend on the 18th as well. Was everything opened when you went? I am looking at the map and I am just confused on if we are going to be able to see the geysers or not. I think the map is saying all the roads are closed besides the one that goes through Lamar Valley. Is that the road you guys went on or were you able to go through the whole park? I am just wondering how it worked out for you guys since its the exact same time lol I subscribed btw!!

Hi Mckenzie, thank you so much for sharing! I'm considering applying for COMM MA in CSULB for fall 2023, a couple of questions I want to ask 1: Does COMM MA require GRE for international students? 2: How do you think of the COMM program at CSULB? 3: How much does the dorm cost on campus? Thank you so much!

URGENT!!! Hey Mackenzie, hope you are doing great. I'm considering CSULB for my graduate application but as an international student I've been hearing a lot that it is a extremely commuter school and there will be very few people left around campus and literally no college life, as also I've been thinking to apply CSU chico for which I heard quiet opposite that its a college town and most of the students live around the campus, so it is kind of urgent for me to decide, could you please shed some light on this. Thanks in advance for your time.

Hello! Of course. CSULB statistics do show that it is mostly a commuter school. I commuted two years, but lived one year on campus. Everyone who lives on campus is typically from out of state, first time freshman’s, international, or other reasons! I do believe it is not a college town. If you are looking for a college town CSULB would not give you that. BUT, I do believe you can achieve a college life from CSULB for sure. People join fraternities, clubs, sports, etc. Of course around the campus off-site, businesses get most of their business from students, but it is not like some college campuses that have everything & anything for them off campus in walking distance. CSULB is located in a busy area of Long Beach, yet there is a lot to do near by if you had a car or took the bus (other beach cities, the mall area, Aquarium, downtown Long Beach, 2nd street, etc). The school provides either a free or discounted bus pass for the students. I am also a firm believer that for some people in order to achieve the college life you have to put yourself out there to get that! I know plenty of people that experienced so much at CSULB through friends, clubs, sororities, etc and you can for-sure achieve amazing experiences. But if you are hoping for a college town (because I have seen colleges like that before; ASU, USC, etc) then I would choose a college that has that for-sure!

Can I transfer credits to study?
@mackenzieclarke2627
2 жыл бұрын
Yes you can transfer credits only if they are transferable. It is best to meet with a counselor at the school you are at, so they can tell you the credits that can be transferred. If you come from a community college, it is easier for transferring credits whereas another university is trickier. www.csulb.edu/admissions/transfer-credit-for-incoming-students

@mackenzieclarke2627

For those prices they are listed here : www.csulb.edu/student-records/tuition-and-fees It depends how many units you choose to partake in. It is $396 on top of each credit and the fees listed in that chart.

How many units are the normal amount to take per semester if you’re a full time student and intend to finish in 4 years?
@mackenzieclarke2627
2 жыл бұрын
@@rikkemslarsen7955 If you intend to finish in 4 years you should be taking 15 units per semester. That’s about 5 classes unless one of the classes is a 4 unit class. A bachelors requires 120 units completed, so that allows 8 semesters of 15. If you take summer and winter classes (they are more expensive), then you will possibly finish early or just not have so much on your hands. 5 classes is very doable because you can spread them out throughout the week.

Is Long Beach a safe area? Would you say you feel safe at night/alone/etc on campus and in the LB vicinity in general?
@mackenzieclarke2627
3 жыл бұрын
Yes! I think like most cities, there are some unsafe areas that you should be cautious walking at night in, but that is a rule of thumb anywhere you go! The school’s area is safe with residential area, a VA hospital, businesses, etc. There are safety buttons all around campus to contact the on campus police if needed. I had a night class when I lived on campus and would ride my bike back home around 8pm and always felt safe!

Hi! I’m glad you found my video too! We went from November 14th-21st. It was my first time in the snow as well. Before arriving, I was nervous we wouldn’t be able to drive North because of the snow, but it was actually perfect. The highways were dry and the roads. The only snow we hit was in the cabin and on one hike. It was not snowing a lot so we got very lucky! As to what I packed, I would love to answer your questions. I will come up with a list and get back to you about that and info on the flight! (:

@@honeybumble6631 Hi! So, for the flight.. I payed to bring a checked bag and it was $30 there and back. I did this so I could bring more because the cold weather I needed more room for fluffy coats/jackets/etc. So, I had my personal item (a backpack) and then the checked bag! My friend did not pay for a checked bag, but her bag did not fit in the cabin, so they checked it under the plane for free. I packed thermals(www.amazon.com/dp/B01BN2LJ0I/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_DTNV31669R4YFVAPHKAH?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1), snow overalls for Glacier National Park because Northern Montana had more snow, jeans, snow boots, Doc Martens, sweaters, beanies, and scarves! Pretty much anything that will keep you warm. When we went to Yellowstone we were much colder there than in the snow near Glacier National Park because there was wind, rain, and ice! Let me know if you have any other questions, hope this helps!

Hi! This question doesn't relate to this video, but I recently saw your CSULB video and found it to be EXTREMELY helpful (I'm an incoming freshman). Earlier in the video you mentioned that you will have graduated in 3 years. I'm also interested in graduating in 3 years and I was wondering if you spoke/planned with your SOAR advisors and counselors overtime to guarantee a graduation within 3 years? Was the process difficult? Any help would be much appreciated! Thank you so much!!!
@mackenzieclarke2627

Awe! I am so glad that it helped you. When I first started at CSULB, I was expecting to be there for 4 years. I suggest letting them know and asking what plan and courses will help you achieve finishing early. Taking summer courses and winter courses will help you, although I have never taken any, but will this summer. Make sure you always have 15 units and you can enroll in courses that double count for requirements. I believe this helped me finish early because many of my courses covered multiple requirments. Meeting with your advisors will help you determine how many you can double count and what not! This process was not difficult for me, but I also always packed my schedule with 15 or 15+ units each semester! I also took 4 unit courses that helped me reach the 120 units for a BA. Hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions (:
