There is so much blatant abuse of the ada passes at cedar fair parks. I really hope that they adopt the six flags policy on it, and make you have your doctor fill out with a third party that you need it. Would cut back on over 90% of ada passes just handed out like candy at the park. I go to parks with a friend with MS, and is chair/scooter bound, and ever since 2020 when CP dropped the ball with access passes for the big 4 rides, the ada lines went from MAYBE 1 group ahead of you at the exit, to lined up from millie exit all the way back to the photo booth. It's disgusting when we roll my friend up to the line, and she has to wait an hour before she can get her paper signed at Vengeance. The tt2 line was so bad it went from the exit, all the way to the lockers during opening weekend! And the majority of groups in the ada line are 14 year old kids with 3 sheets between 12 people, and they all want to ride together. They're all messing around in line too. You can clearly see that most of them are just abusing the system, and the ironic thing is, that the ada line is sometimes longer than just going through the regular line. Something NEEDS to be done. Six Flags has fixed the problem, and Universal, Dollywood, and more parks are adopting that system. I REALLY hope that the CF parks do too after the merger. It's also not like they don't know about it. E mails have been sent, calls have been made to CP, KI, and CF people, and it's always the same story... "we are looking into ways to fix it". Bullshit they are. They don't care. If they did, six flags has been using that third party system for a few years now. They aren't looking too hard.
@OklahomaCoasterFan
3 күн бұрын
@@Spike-sk7ql I'm glad you're speaking up about it. More people need to. The abuse of that system at Cedar Point especially is terrible. It ruins it for people who actually need it, as your experience shows. It also ruins things for all of us in the regular line, who aren't abusing the system, making our wait double what it would be otherwise. I know someone who would put a knee brace on and get an ada pass every time, but can easily walk 10+ miles a day. I guess most Six Flags parks are doing it how you described, but Six Flags over Texas is notorious for just allowing anyone to get an ada pass. I have spoken out about it, but I usually get ignored or told that they probably are disabled in a way that isn't obvious. That's possible with some, but it's too obvious that many of them are abusers.
@MidcourseDiscourse
2 күн бұрын
Definitely. It worsens the experience for absolutely everyone when the system is abused. Reading reports from the few days that TT2 was open, every other post was about how overused ADA access was, and how it genuinely was ruining the day for individuals with genuine needs. As much as I hate the pay-to-win nature of Fast Lane, abusing the ADA system is on an entirely different level of selfish and despicable behavior. As a kid at Disney with a family member who required an ADA pass, we had to verify through state ID, written doctor’s note (which had to be written within a certain period of time). I understand that guest services can easily get overwhelmed, but if you’re going to include a system for guests with disabilities, you NEED to be vigilant about ensuring it is not exploitable.
@Spike-sk7ql
Күн бұрын
@@MidcourseDiscourse EXACTLY! 1000% Agree there. That's why I really hope that the CF parks adopt the six flags system where it's a 3rd party, your doctor has to fill out your needs with them, and that's how you get your ada at six flags. Universal has adopted that system, Dollywood too from what I hear. It's absolutely disgusting how people will lie, and abuse a system that's meant for people with problems. It NEVER used to be like this until 2020. I blame CP for this problem. If there was a system in place it would cut down the ada lines by over 90%. Using the ada system from 2010-2019 you would have MAYBE one, sometimes 2 groups ahead of you. Now, there's such a line that at tt2 they were using silver train for ada only!!!! I'm friends with a few of the crew that was working tt2, and one of them told me that the ada line was actually LONGER than the regular line! I have fast lane, and I have it because I can't stand in one spot for a long time. My wife has bad neuropathy so she's the same way. She's also a very hard to control sugar levels diabetic, she's legally blind, she falls up and down stairs. She used to get an ada. Now we were basically forced to buy fast lane because of the abuse of the system. Before 2020 steel vengeance never had a podium at the bottom of the exit to sign passes! They know about it, and they don't do a damn thing about it.

I appreciate the support! I’m still playing around with what to keep consistent and what not to for these videos. So far, I use the same intro/outro music, but a different B-roll song for each video. This one was so long that I felt like it needed two, since there’s eleven or twelve B-roll sequences. I’ll probably wind up coming back to some of my preferred songs, I just don’t think I want them to be the same every time!

Coastermania was interesting. The ERT wasn't very productive, except Magnum. I waited like an idiot for Millie to open before calling it quits after half an hour. Then SteVe broke down with me getting the evac credit off the final brake run in row 1 around midnight. Plus, there was the dinner with that horrible dude that was yelling at Tony over the cancelled boat ride. Those people were throwing ice cubes at me 15 mins before that, prompting me to change seats. Dunno what their problem was. All in all though, I got about 40 rides in that day. I had a ton of fun but they can't run an event as well as Kings Island can. I think I will go again next year even though this is my home park.

Thanks for the support! I totally agree. There is so much potential when you have a ride going at such speeds, but more often than not it ends shortly after. My guess is that the launch mechanisms and surrounding systems are so expensive that it leaves little room for more. Dragster and Kingda aka were some of the most expensive coasters ever built at that time, and I’m sure the price would easily double if they added full layouts after the top hats. Even though they’re not the fastest of the bunch, some of the S&S air launched rides do have very solid layouts!

Wild Mouse at this park is the wild card. It oddly runs single at a time despite many zones thus sloooowwww lines at the yellow painted wild mouse. Risky as it seems to shut down allot and takes 10-20 minute waits to startup adding further aggravation to this coasters wait time.

I’ve always been so disappointed w how it runs. Like you said, this thing has so many blocks, it could easily handle three on the course at a time. The fact that this was the fastest I’ve seen it running is both great in the moment, but still sad overall 😂 I want these Arrow mice to stick around as long as possible, but please MA, figure out how to run it a teeny bit faster.

so refreshing to see a coaster enthusiast that doesn't automatically sh*t on Michigan's Adventure. While it obviously doesn't get the attention and love that other Cedar Fair parks get like CP and KI, as my home park, it's nice to see a perspective of the park from someone who isn't nitpicking and completely trashing the park at any given chance. Shivering Timbers is slept on by so many because of the location but I always try to tell people that it's definitely worth the trip to Michigan to get a few rides on it. Totally agree with you on Wildcat too that it feels like a completely different ride now; I rode it last year after not having ridden it in well over 5+ years and was shocked that it was so smooth!

Great Vid - glad to see a astute well regarded opinion provided as well rate Shivering timbers so highly. I really need to get on Voyage! 💯 Shivering timbers is THE wooden coaster that makes Michigan Adventures. Michigan Adventures is somewhat under-rated when you consider your near awesome lake beach and sand dunes. There is a fantastic RV park, Duck Creek, with great cabins to rent across the street from Michigan Adventures with excellent new indoor pool - massive outdoor adult hot tub and plenty to do for the kids - you can stay there a week and hit michigan adventures multiple times in a week if you get the reasonable pass which includes parking.
