Hey Don, Great idea and video. I'm actually in the process of doing the exact same thing except with an ultrathin sheet of Teflon. After seeing your video, I think the brass material may be better. I think I'll try the brass first as 0.0001 thickness is very thin and likely makes everything come together much better. Tried the pipe tape method but it's not so great. yours seems the best approach yet. Thanks! PS. I have a Wildman scooter bag (really popular) but need a much sturdier stem mount for it - Have any suggestions? My Thunder II is new and I've discovered quickly that anything that goes on a scooter has to be really sturdy. Thanks!

Think most of the time, all that's needed is a small amount of grease around the bottom of the cable wraps. No tools needed.. Squeaking gone.

Don't do this , the guy is a hack , and doesn't know what he is doing , the brass is going to oxidized and cause more problems then you think ,it will fuse together and start eating away at your stem ,and good luck getting it apart , and fixing ,, brass has a finish on it that stops it from turning but as soon as the finish is gone it will turn ,and eventually go green almost like a moss will form ,and that is whats going to happen in your stem !

😎👍... That scooter is officially fix fixed and won't be coming back for a squeaky stem maybe a flat tire but that's mod works. Don is a Wizard 🤣 when you pick up your Scooter after repairs are done, you would swear it rides better that when you first took it out the box.

Finally fixed my cracking! Thank you for the video. I did it myself. Nothing complicated just need simple tools. Plus got more stability

Holy crap 0.0001" is like 40x thinner than a piece of print paper. Something isn't right here.

A few members of my organization and I did some research on the guy on this video and it turns out that he just got into the scooter repair business because he had a little bit of electrical experience but no building or mechanical experience with E-scooters or hyper scooters. We also discovered that he has over charged and deceived a number of people who didn't know any better. This is the kind of guy that gives professional scooter builders like my self a bad name. You Tube should ban this clown for misinformation.

As a pro hyper scooter builder myself, I can say that this is pure BS. Silicone or a dab of lithium grease will have the same affect and not rip apart like the brass foil will after a while. By a beer with the five bucks instead.
