Why does she have her hand on the control wheel when he is flying? Is that normal in the air force? Don't try that with the airlines when you get your DEI job... The c130 has an aft facing radar to warn overtaking thunderstorms 😂

I was 9 years old when I fought there in Battlefield 1942. I remember playing as the Axis. We had to spawn on the battleship and get there by plane or the boats. Man it used to be so annoying needing to wait for a plane to spawn. Because everyone would use to rush for it. The trick was to hold E as soon as seconds before you spawn.

My father was one of the 8 original pilots to fly our new Herc's up to Trenton Ontario, Canada from the factory in the states with the RCAF. He flew the Herc for most of his Airforce career retiring with almost 40,000 hours. After his retirement he was 1 of 5 or 6 retired Herc pilots that ran the simulator program, following conversion to a glass cockpits in Canada's H models, our J models were just coming into our Airforce at that time. Nice airplane but the engine sound on the J model isn't quite there. Great video, I sure miss flying in the Hercules, I grew up in and around them.

I hauled many loads of JP4 into Moody Field during the Vietnam era. All those trees planted in neat rows are pecan and walnut groves. There was one that was close to the road. I'd pull off under that tree and gather pecans that had fallen on the right of way. Run all the way back to Panama City munchin' on those pecans. Memories!

I flew into Wake island a number of times in the late 60's on a C133a as a loadmaster out of Dover AFB. We would stop overnight on our way to Vietnam. From there we went on to Clark AFB.. On one occasion we lost an engine after passing the half way point and Clark had to send air rescue to follow us in. The flight engineer figured that if we lost one more engine we would be flying 50 feet below sea level. The thing I liked about wake Island was the old "Drifters Reef" which was on the shore. If I remember right it was made to look like an old grass hut. It was torn down and rebuilt it as a bowling alley, never was quite the same.

Both of them would make excellent airline pilots for United Airlines once they retire from military aviation……wait! Wait! I forgot…..United Airlines has a new DEI policy that would prevent these two experienced people from being hired because of their skin color.

I'd hate to have the GPS warning go off and then doodle around skimming trees and ponds for about three minutes after that until I got lined up.. the other thing I noticed is that the First off had her hand lightly on the yoke all through landing. I'm surprised that's allowed unless the USAF has a policy that she's allowed to take over on her yoke after a fast hand over in case there's a lack of control to the primary pilot ? No PAPIs noted .. perhaps the AF policy is not use them as pilots will get too reliant on them ? TE Fidler , old sailplane pilot.

I don't think your average person has any clue how amazing the C-130s are. There's no other plane on earth that can handle all the roles the C130 can.

I have seen several beam or shallow beams performed by US C130 and unlike other countries they extend a bit too down wind leg to config for landing. Other air forces tend to shorten DW or even to go on a continuous turn onto final (270°) if they did the overhead right on the threshold. Too tight for my like though

I was a crew chief on HC-130H, P and MC-130Ps, all built in 1965 and 1966. I retired in 2005, and the birds finally retired in 2017. They were tired in the mid 1990’s, and had more wiring problems than you could shake a stick at.
