Hello there. So i had to work on this myself. I was able to change the coupler and everything but now I ended up with another problem. My steering wheel ended up being turned to the left 90 degrees when I was putting every back together. What did I do?? How do I fix this? Thank you for the help
@Frostcall

Take it back apart and put it back together. Perhaps use a marker to mark things this time to ensure it’s on correctly. It seems when you were putting it back on you put it on 90 degrees off.

Man... I would really appreciate it if you could heart this comment and reply. I have a 12tb drive FILLED with rare stuff and I just ran to grab a ringing phone and the cord caught my leg.. the drive is spinning fine, but the input jack (the jack on the drive case where the USB cable plugs in) - how much trouble am I in in trying to either get that part replaced or at least getting my stuff off of the drive. It's just the jack on the drive case - I imagine the stuff is all undamaged on the drive (fingers crossed) ...as long as that stuff still exists I won't panic quite yet.

I have a 2013 Veloster. The steering wheel on it is slanted to the left on there is a delay in the steering (as in when I turn left I have to turn it farther then I should before it the car turns). I've also noticed that occasionally (usually when I fully rotate the wheel) there is a loud pop which seems to be coming for the the steering as all my suspension looks great. Do you think it could have anything to do with this issue? I was planning to pull out the steering column this weekend to inspect everything.

Just did this and had one wire to the power steering module break. Got a new connector off a junkyard car and spliced it together but the power steering is still out. Everything else is plugged in properly and there’s no breaks anywhere else. Any idea what may be wrong? Does the computer need a reset?

5:09 - 5:13 Another Important Point, that connector there, instead of prying at it from the top side right side, if you poke the flat head screw driver on the opposite side underneath (the side where you plug stuff into it normally, there are two push pin thingies, you can push that clip in and it slides right out instead of risking plastic damage and or inducing a rattling noise by prying at it that much.

Any tips for breaking the last 14mm bold loose? I got to that very last bolt and could not break it lose without risking damage from slipping(its really hard to get the proper leverage), Im thinking of waiting untill its really cold outside and then either using a hair drier and or turning the climate control to blow hot air through the leg vents in the hope of some how expand and contract the bolt enough to break it lose more easily. I might end up having to bite the bullet and buy a torque wrench or somethin, or maybe a neighbor might let me borrow one. Also i was wondering if using any thread losener or stuck bolt spray cans would be a good idea, as long as i also put back on the thread locker afterwards, and as long as i clean all of the thread losener off And dont get it on ANY of the electronics/wire connectors... i guess i will save that as a last resort. Also Thank you for posting this video, you are a life saver!

The trick I use for stuck bolts is to slightly tighten them first, then try loosening again. Kind of a ‘rock back and forth’ thing.
@CrazySaVaunT
8 ай бұрын
@@Frostcall I don't know if I can tighten it, it'sREALLY REALLY on there. I can't budge it at all in either direction, it feels way over-torqued past spec. I think one of the techs at Hyundai the last time they were under the dash and stuff, they went a bit ham on that bolt. I mean I'm putting enough pressure to worry about breaking my wrench or shearing metal on the bolt. That tight.

@@Frostcall It is still barely getting into winter where i live, CA, meaning just starting to get below 55F lowest at night. Im thinking i might be able to break it lose when its 40F, also thinking of putting an ice pack on/around the bolt before hand, or trying a few alternations of that and a hair drier. That or maybe make a deal with someone at the dealership to just brake it lose (though I doubt they will touch it without paying full price)

I have a WD Elements 107c hard drive, I've had it a few years and plugged it in the other day but no light or noise. If I remove hard drive can I retrieve files from it with a SATA cable?
@Frostcall

That depends on what is the underlying issue. If the drive itself is dead then it won’t work even if it pull it out. If the problem is the power or data connection in the enclosure, then yes it should work.

Thanks again. I would like to add a few optional tips; 1. I found it easier to remove the plastic bottom housing prior to the removing the plastic bottom steering wheel housing. Once you get the bigger piece off, the smaller housing come off easier without having to wiggle it off. 2. It made life easier to just pull off the steering wheel after you remove the 2 12mm nuts. This would allow easier access to the 14mm AND the coupler it self. Reinstallation was much easier after I accidently pulled off the steering wheel. Lol
