This video would have otherwise been a great breakdown of the story telling in Mad Max if not for the obnoxious political propaganda you tried to shove down people's throats. It's so off-putting I couldn't continue 30min in. Can't you just make such great breakdowns without inserting your unwarranted political and ideological fallacies?

Good video for the most part… but Immortan Joe is clearly the National Socialist insert… so NOT Capitalist, just as Hitler was extremely anti Capitalist.

The Bullet Farmer is the Army and police, abusing (using absurd amount of weapons and ammunition ) their power (guns and law) even above the government (Immortan Joe) to abuse the civilians. It´s just like Mexico :/

I know the focus of the video wasn't on the larger universe of Star Wars, but the very casual introduction of important characters struck me as a major reason why the expanded universe grew as huge as it did. It seems entirely possible that Luke and Obi-Wan could have found a completely different pilot to take them to Alderaan, and there still could have been an amazing story told. There are a ton of background characters in Star Wars that may not get a line or just look cool, yet people still latched onto them. If you just look at the movies, Boba Fett doesn't do a ton besides look cool and say some lines, but his design, job, and attitude struck a cord with several authors who told stories that shaped him into a badass. Wedge Antilles is notable for being a background pilot who survives each film, and he became an important character in the X-Wing series of books, which are amazing. The imperial officer who talks with Vader at the beginning of the film doesn't get a name, yet got an entire backstory for being one of the few officers Darth Vader respected for his blunt honesty and directness, entirely because it's in contrast to the smug attitude later imperial officers displayed. And so many of these background characters appeared in multiple books, comics, and even video games, long before the internet made that information easier to find. For all their faults, this is still something the prequels kept. There are a ton of people, myself included, who got attached to Delta Squad, a 4 man team of commandos in a much larger conflict, just because they were in a great game and shared excellent comradery even though their actions in the grand scheme of things isn't much more than operator shit. Clone Wars did wonders for getting people to look at the positives of the prequels, and it's why, as much as the sequel trilogy fumbled the ball, I'm entirely fine and even welcome more stories set in the era, are there are still much you can do with the characters and setting. It's one of the many beauties of Star Wars.

40:32 There’s a deleted scene where Joe discards Angharad’s body as well as Miss Giddy in the middle of the desert. He didn’t even attempt to bury her or leave them with any dignity, it was cut for story clarity but I think it definitely should’ve been kept in.

Movies feel a need to get things out of the way fast and early because a lot of movies back in the day had a long slow build up and sometimes that was boring, so now people rush through everything and they do things like "Hey look explosions!" and then someone gets stabbed and then someone gets shot! Then a car chase, but someone is bleeding out in the car and the chase lasts 20 minutes. Fast frantic forward moving shit that keeps people's simple minds occupied throughout so they don't get bored watching character development happen. I think it's a biproduct of bad writing because the writer is terrified that they will bore their audience with mundane details. Also this isn't a movie that had CGI. In the 70s CGI wasn't a thing that existed. Everything had to be constructed and played out on film. Any CGI that might be added was added after the fact. A lot of the "Bad CGI" isn't CGI that's why it's so "Bad". It's done with models and costumes. Pronunciations were left up to the actors to decide. For that reason You will hear George Lucas say Han Solo while Harrison Ford said Hon Solo. Lucas says Alderan, Harrison says Alderon. While some people say Layah, Tarkin says Leah. And this adds a really beautiful thing to the world of star wars. It adds an element to the story that is life like. People do this stuff in the real world.

51:20 this bit is important because that is not his daughter, Max´s ghosts are Hope, Glory, Chumbucket and Goose. People he failed to save in his past, the reason why he tried to cross the "desert" (its called the Plains of Silence... who is were the sea used to be placed -that´s why is called a salty desert) and he failed to cross... In the beginning of the movie, the Max we saw is the one who came back from this attempted journey. Yes, most of this came from the Mad Max videogame, and, even could be argued, is canon.
