How does it come off if you nail the leather and outsole to the last???? What's the point?

Hi, thanks for watching my videos. All nails need the be removed before getting covered with leather or any other material. The nails are used to keep the sole in place. I hope you were talking about those nails or do you refer to other nails? Can you give me the time in the video? Thanks again for your interest.

Hi! Thank you for watching my video. Leathers can be bought here: www.minke.de They have got an english site as well. I usually use Rendenbach leather for my shoes. I would love to use Horween Dublin Leather but I cannot buy it in germany.

Hello, I wet the soles by the use of pure water. For the upper I use water with a spill of alcohol and a little soap.

what happened to the nails in the beginning?

One needs to make sure, that all the nails are removed before the sole is attached of course. The nails would Keep the last in place and is very hard to pull a nailed last out of the finished shoe.

Ich habe mittlerweile einige sehr schöne neue Modelle entwickelt. Ein Paar rahmengenähter Schuhe fangen preislich bei etwa 500 Euro an. Die Gedoppelten liegen bei etwa 590,- Euro. Die Preise sind allerdings auch vom Modell abhängig.

+lemusalonso Usually I use Rendenbach Croupon leather. 3,5-4 mm thickness.

The interior sole is 1.2 mm thick. It's calf leather- soft and lasting!

Das ist ein sog. Zuschneidemesser und man kann dieses bei den meisten Lederlieferanten kaufen. Falls nötig ist es auch möglich über mich ein solches Messer zu erwerben.

Because people seeking low price regarding of quality and comfort. they rather buy cheap shoes that last one season and deforming their feet than to buy one quality handmade shoes that can last tens of years...feet confort afectiong whole health and by time they reach 40 they have so damaged feet that requires difficult surgeons.

Nonetheless I was wondering what happened at 5:15 where the nose of the shoe has become all white and bluish. Is this the result of some kind of chemical hardener? If so could you please tell me more about this part?

My family was in making shoe business for over 70 years, you are really good , I know almost everything you are doing , this is the classical way we used to make shoes.Now the quality is very bad to keep prices down.Chinese factories destroyed this business..
