昭楽窯 SHORAKUgama
SHORAKUgama was established near Kiyomizu-dera Temple in 1905 by Sasaki Kichinosuke, the founder of this kiln, The history of the kiln has been developing for about total 10 decades with thoughts and skills from Kichinosuke Sasaki were fascinated by the artistic sense of “Rikyu-wabicha” and the thought of “Zen”.After that, the kiln was moved to a mountain of Kameoka, north side of Kyoto.
Since then, it has been having used by a lot of many famous pottery craftsmen, such as Master.Daitokuji Goto Zuigan, Master and other famous potters.
We would like to weave the "new technique" into the history and tradition of more than 100 years, and continue to search for the Chanoyu Tea Bowl from the present to the future, and hand down to our posterity.
