What if transmission fluid is leaking between gearbox and engine?

If the transmission has a front saucer/dish/cover plate then it could be leaking out of the front dish gasket, just behind the torque converter and before the trans fluid pump. Typically 1-2 inner and outer Gaskets that can be replaced with a rebuild kit or by part number. Otherwise if the Gaskets are fine then your stater shafts (the shaft that slides into the oil pump assembly and mates with the torque converter) bushing/s or sealing rings (metal and/or Teflon) could be worn and need replacing. But typically it's the front cover Gaskets that leak, or it could be a leaking torque converter if you see the fluid collecting in the torque converter and dripping onto the shaft down to the weap hole on your trans housing at the bottom, Engine to gearbox. Also, the trans pump sometimes has an inner seal just like a front main crank seal, or a rear main seal. Check those and let me know

So anyone who watches this guy he's wrong there are 3 clicks on most and if you install it with it out 1 click you will damage the transmission. Good information though. Usually the rule I make sure a finger will not fit behind the converter and transmission

Yes definitely 3 clicks I've been a transmission mechanic for to many years 2 clicks equal a broken transmission pump 3 clicks make for a good install

4L60E has 3 bolts for torque converter. also the converter clicks in 3 notches rather than 2 in this video

Either a E40D transmission or 4R100 both ford and for a gas motor being the torque converter has only four studs

Been rebuilding transmissions going on 44 years and you have to seat three different things. The input splines. The stator shaft splines and the pump gears. That's not in all the way. I can hear it.

Um, you wouldn't be able to hook up the bell housing to the engine block if it's not all the way in. You would be there awhile trying to figure out why the bell housing and the engine block are not together.

That’s when the hack pulls it up tight with the bell bolts and if they manage not to bust an ear off the transmission they’ve bent the flex plate, then they start it up and tear the pump apart and burn up the thrust bearing on the crankshaft. I’ve seen that done sadly more than once...

Hello Chris, since I made this video for educational purposes please let me clarify. The caliper piston rides back and forth on rubber seals. With this build up on the sides of caliper piston it will make the seals wear out much faster. By removing this it will ensure that the seals last much longer and ensure that the brakes are more reliable. I find that in the long run it is more cost-effective both in time and money to do good work then to do poor work and get it done a little bit faster only to have to redo it.

Transmission oil and engine oil. Kind of like calling a manual transmission a standard transmission. I have never in my life taken a ASE test called standard transmission.. Only manual.

some will fit without seating the converter properly so yeah its very important so that pump don't get fried ...the more you know I guess
