Really good movie. Hard to follow at first but then again that was the point. It just needed about 15-20 more minutes of delivery and explanation. Not totally dished out just. Most people especially a young me at the time didn't understand. I would have leaned harder into the detective/noir feeling but it didn't. It got a little lost trying to do what Aliens did and be a sci-fi horror,, something. Still a REALLY good movie. But budget hollyweird stops the story when it thinks its good enough and won't make anymore money.. Least they didn't push racist agenda lgbqstoopid back then.

I think to really understand the movie one have to know the occultic theme the plot is tied to. Some parasites (archons?) controlling people via time (Saturn) and "mk ultra", the statue of a man with a clock inside (Chronos-time-Saturn), John getting concious of this illusionary realm. Its straight gnostic just like many other of his movies have this gnostic occultic touch.

Perfect representation of “We are just living this moment; we don’t have to live 150,000 moments at once. We are only living one. That’s why I say you might as well practice with each moment.”- Joko Beck.
