very impressive doing this on top of a apartment or condo with minimal tools. Ive seen really bad wood stuff come from high end decked out wood shops......and using the spiral staircase moving stuff, very impressive. your project turned out very nice, esp going against the elements outside!!!

Wanted to say I copied your table (only minor changes). Made it in 1 day with some leftovers, together with a friend and some beers. Good times and I also have a coffee table now. Thank you so much! Greetings from Belgium.

Wow no way! Thanks for telling me, I'm so glad the design resonated with you enough to build it yourself. I'd love to see a picture! if you have Instagram I'm @lotwoodworks

Great job for the limited tools and work space you had. Well done. Something that nice don’t belong in New York City

Great to see someone work with few tools and space limitations. (Speaking as someone who does not have a table saw or the place for one.)

It always amazes me how people justify using pocket holes or biscuits to join parts. Not sure why. If it works, use it. 🙂

I like the idea of a channel exploring woodworking with these constraints. It came out great. I think I might be tempted to get a locking, water tight deck box for some of the tools just to save on trips up the stairs.
@jacklot
Жыл бұрын
Huh, locking watertight box is a slick idea. Might have to do that

Well done with the tools you have. You could use just dowel joints instead of pocket holes, or do dados with router. Or even do dados and then drill holes for dowels from outside and leave dowel heads as detail pieces.
@jacklot

Exposed dowels as part of the design could look really cool, good suggestion

i think this piece could be even better if you lower the plywood bit with the big holes so you can lay a piece of glass into it. I think that would make it more user friendly and probably also more expensive for selling

You didn’t show the attachment of the legs to the table so that we know it’s sturdy enough.

I used 4 1.25” course-thread SPAX screws per leg screwed directly into the bottom of the table. If you plan on using this as a bench, you could do threaded inserts instead

That’s amazing with just a circular saw and a crosscut jig and some scrap wood. I’m thinking if you ever get tired of things falling through the slots, it would look great with a glass top.
@jacklot

Cool table! I'm looking for a way to use a lot of the scraps I accumulated and this looks like a nice idea for some family presents instead of the usual cutting board. I would love to see more builds that utilize scraps in creative ways.
