Hey is Kind oft cool. Hammer, screws, paint and the construct is back. take it with Humor. hahaha

How is the pendulum powered? Sensing coil and driving coil setup or feedback from the switching system/ solenoid to give a push?

Neither. The ratchet wheel has one single deep tooth... or rather... one single deep space between two teeth. When that special gap aligns with the ratcheting mechanism, the gravity arm drops to give a slight nudge to the pendulum. That's what powers the pendulum. Then, the gravity arm is being reset because it hits a microswitch that powers the coil. The power of the coil is completely detached from the pendulum, so therefore, no matter how strong or how weak the electromagnet is, as long as the electromagnet can lift the gravity arm back up, the pendulum will always receive the same amount of "nudge" from the gravity arm each time.

Cool solution for your model of machine and the safety nannies won't complain about not using low voltage relays like with mine. Unfortunately, a similar solution for the Ender 3/Pro would elude my design abilities!

Why would anyone want to make this .

It is a challenge for me to make working stuff (in this case, an aparatus which can keep very accurate time) out of just junk laying around the house, using no power tools (except maybe an angle grinder). If I can make it out of junk, it means I could make it out of proper materials, later down the road. Besides, clockmaking is one of my hobbies.

In the Netherlands its 150KV and some 380kV! But that is not the real problem, its the amps! A human can only handeling max 0,03 amps! And if i see the amount of insulation dish its not a 110KV one ;-) But a 150KV one (!!!). And the one you touch is a earth wire, or lightning wire to protect the phase wires from lightning strikes. Sometimes you see "spheres" on the wires. They are not for the birds but are reflective for aircraft and ship radar. The Highest tower on the world is 346,5 mtr (China). Here someone arrested by dutch police climbing a power tower: kzitem.info/news/bejne/yamal5ihn32ejaA (like this vid xd).

You know how I know the voltage on the lines are 110KV? It's written on a small plate at the bottom :)

Some ultra-directional extreme-ultra-high-frequency transmission and reception going on right there XD On a serious note, this is awesome to see.

How did you know that the tower is inactive?
@londonnight937

The tower is a power transmission tower, and is currently carrying lots of current at a nominal voltage of 110KV. The tower is active.

The pylon and ground must be at the same voltage as the lines. He got very lucky and chose the right tower to climb.

@@Constellation3232 the ground and the wire will never be at the same potential when the wire is energized. He also grabbed the static aka the neutral wire. If he would have grab one of the phases he would have been dead before he hit the ground
