How many battery are needed and how much volt battery?
@Alytra-ki7fd
12 күн бұрын
My motor and ESC runs at 72volts. I'm using 12volt lead acid batteries. I have 6 wired in series to get 72 volts. (12volts X 6 = 72volts). so you only need 6 But I have another 6 batteries wired in parallel to the other 6 batteries to get a longer battery life. so my go-kart has 12 lead acid batteries only for a longer battery life but you only need 6 batteries.

For movement I assume you mean steering; The steering system I use I bought off of Amazon. For the speed, I would use 54 tooth sprocket, it got me up to 32MPH. I have a video on the sprocket, its called (drilling holes in my sprocket for my go-kart). I can answer any questions you have.

@@Alytra-ki7fdI mean the engine system and accelerator
@Alytra-ki7fd

my go-kart doesn't have an engine, it has an electric motor, engines use gas, my go-kart is electric, it runs off of batteries. I use a 72volt 3000Watt motor. I bought it off amazon as a kit, the kit comes with the motor, sprocket, chain, foot pedal, ESC and some other stuff. And for the accelerator, I think what you mean is how I use the motor to move the go-kart. The chain goes on the little sprocket on the motor and connects to the bigger 54 tooth sprocket. You can reach up to 32MPH with that setup. I have a video on it, it called (how fast can a 72v 3000w motor go on my go-kart) Let me know if you have any more question, I'm happy to help you.

Yeah! That smaller sprocket is wayyy too small. If you want more top speed change your sprocket out for maybe 10-20 teeth less. Depending on what u currently have. Keep in mind ur losing torque by shrinking the sprocket(less acceleration)

the motor itself has a 11 tooth sprocket on it, and that small black sprocket is a 22 tooth sprocket(made it myself). The sprocket that got me up to 32mph has 54 teeth. I just bought a 37 tooth sprocket that I will switch out with that small 22 tooth sprocket. Hopefully I can reach 40+mph with it

you can connect both controllers with one throttle by grabbing the green wire from either controller and connect not with the other controller green , on one controller you have all 3 connected. on the other. you only need the green to connect to the green
@Alytra-ki7fd
Ай бұрын
If I connect both controllers to one throttle, that one throttle will power both controllers at the same time which is what I don't want. The ESC on the right powers the motor connected to a large sprocket The ESC on the left powers the motor connected to a small sprocket. Different sprocket sizes result in different speeds, so I need to be able to control each ESC individually; Its like switching gears

hello you know you can use one throtle for 2 esc to control at the same time and the esc at the botem what if you take a bumb ?
@Alytra-ki7fd
2 ай бұрын
I thought of that as well, but with these ESCs, they only have one port to connect the throttle to. I could connect extra wires from the throttle into the second ESC, but then I would have to manually turn off and on the ESC that I want so that I don't power both at the same time. It's a lot easier just to have two pedals so I can move my foot from one pedal to the other and have power at demand. As for hitting a bump, I'm (hoping) its high enough off the ground so it doesn't hit it, we shall see in the future. How were you thinking about connecting both ESCs to one throttle? I would love to know and thank you for watching.

@@Alytra-ki7fd i was thinking to do the same first, then i thought but wait 1. if motor have maximum speed and you put one ratio on it and with other motor you put smaller ratio it will spin much more than its rated for 2. That motor with smaller ratio will take much more energy/power and probably gona overheat. What do you think about that
@Alytra-ki7fd
2 ай бұрын
The motors will spin at the same speed, its the sprockets that will have different speeds; and the sprockets are connected to the axel which are also connected to the wheels. For example lets say the small sprocket on the motor itself has 11 teeth and we connect it to a larger sprocket with 55 teeth, with a chain. the motor itself will have to rotate 5 times in order for the 55 tooth sprocket to spin 1 time. That's how it is on one side of my go-kart. The other motor on the other side also has a 11 tooth sprocket on it. I connect that motor to a sprocket with 22 teeth, with a chain. The motor itself will have to rotate 2 times in order to make the 22 tooth sprocket rotate 1 time. This means the 22 tooth sprocket spins faster than the 55 tooth sprocket even when the speed of the motors are the same. what I'm describing is called "gear ratios" And you are right, the motor with the smaller sprocket will consume more power because it will be harder for the motor to turn such a small sprocket. I expect that motor to get a little hotter than the other one, but I don't think it will overheat and melt, it has pretty thick copper wirers on the inside, but we shall see. I just finished the go-kart today, it works, I will show and explain the sprockets in the next video that I will be posting soon.

The 2 motors are connected to two different sprockets for different speeds. 1 is connected to a large sprocket that gives high torque but low speed, 20mph or so. The other motor is connected to a much smaller sprocket that has low torque but high speed; it should make me go much faster if the sprocket doesn't bend or break.
