We will expand as our self-vision of the southern manifest destiny demands, on Mexico, on Central America, the entire Caribbean, the Lesser and Greater Antilles, on Venezuela, Colombia and the most remote tropical tropics of the South. Until we establish a great nation of confederated states, the largest, most useful and richest Confederation that the world has ever seen on the face of the earth, to the south is our destiny, and thus restore the freedom that we feel is ours. NO WHERE ELSE. and they knew they would get "free" folk so give them the worst equipment and no support and throw them at the CSA soldiers to die and waste ammo. they blockaded the entire country so no food or anything. they arrested csa diplomats on a neutral British ship (which caused the uk to send 13k troops to Canada) so they did so much to take down a bunch of farmers lmao. oh and that poor kid who got his head you know. head-less horsemaned by union troops.

This is probably going to be one of the most historical authentic versions of this song we're ever likely to hear. A man called Booth Campbell recorded this in 1942 to serve as a historical record. He was born in 1872 and his father was an actual Confederate veteran, meaning this is likely the version of the song his father taught him, and thus is a true 100% historically authentic and accurate version, as sung by a former warrior of Dixie himself.

The tune is the Irish Jaunting Car. If you're a fellow Civil War enthusiast you may have also heard the Union-Irish song, The Irish Volunteer, which has the same tune. In fact, the performer of one of the recordings of the Irish Volunteer, David Kincaid, was one of the musicians playing the song here, hence the similar tune.

For those wondering about the lyrics stating hatred for the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, please bear in mind that those lyrics are NOT necessarily from the Reconstruction-period. Records indicate that this song existed through oral tradition as early as 1866, but it was not published in written form until 1898 when former Confederate Major James Randolph wrote it as a poem, and even then, it was not published as a song until 1914. At that time, it is likely that the song was used to mock southerners for refusing to embrace national unity, rather than accurately reflect their Reconstruction-era resentment.

I just freaking love Georgia. They previously had the ANV battle flag (the "Southern Cross") as part of their state flag, and libs were hopping mad about this and pressured them to change the flag. And well, they did. They changed to literally the first national flag of the Confederacy ( the "Stars and Bars") and just added the seal of Georgia in the middle of the stars. Of course libs are too braindead to notice any of this, because the only "Confederate Flag" they know is the ANV battle flag, and they're all quiet ever since.
