I don't think people realised but Mr Phillips could not love Prissy because he was gay, he just wanted to avoid the reality.

I often watch this scene just for her mom's little smile. I get this incredible feeling seeing how her mom didn't want Prissy to get married at that age.

Omgggg why did I watch and get emotional all over again🥹😭🥹😭... I absolutely loved this show. I rewatched it multiple times and still I am a huge fan of this mini unique series🩷. Anne of Green Gables is one of my fav adolescent stories. So when I came across this show on Netflix when it premiered I instantly fell in love. This is one of my fav scenes of the series. Made me wish I could experience life as a teen back in the late 1890's 😊lol....

I adore this scene. Prissy running back to girlhood, to childhood. Away from what would be a predatory marriage. The scene with the girls laughing and dancing and playing in the snow is so touching.

Am I the only one who slightly feels bad for Mr. Phillips? I totally deny his actions and agree they are not excusable. But the fact he punishes himself by punishing Cole is saddening. He must of been brought up to think that being a homosexual is terrible and unjust and must be punished so he let out all of that on Cole.
