From what I've learned, your brain doesn't need to stop functionning in order for you to die. Some people, who've usually suffered a lot throughout their lives, may simply cave in at some point. They seem normal, smile and laugh with you. And then one day they turn. It's quite subtle, they're still there, but they've lost it : the innocence, the will, the joy... Call it whatever you want. Life giveth and life taketh.

Hospice will always have a special place in my heart. It always reminds me of a relationship I had for over 10 years with the love of my life who was incredibly abusive. Epilogue just sums up how I feel now it's over. Heartbreaking conflicting emotions.

Its music like this, that makes me glad im schizoid. I am incapable of feeling emotions this deeply, and immune to such pain as what I am hearing in this. It's unbearable.

Pure emotion. Words could never explain how good this recording is. The Antlers are so underrated too me for how talented they are, and also believe Peter Silverman is up there with the great songwriters. When Hospice came out, I knew right away I was experiencing greatness and have listened to that album 30 times. Burst Apart, Undersea - EP, and Familiars are incredible albums as well, which has proven that their defiantly one of those rare bands that ease you from any doubt that they're even capable of making an average or bad album...

This band is just amazing. I love this with all my heart. Their most powerful album is Hospice in my opinion. There is no feeling in the world like listening to Hospice in the pitch dark, envisioning it in your mind. It's just a powerful album alone and then in the dark, it's beautiful to hear and imagine. My dad told me that the first time he heard it was at like 5 am when he couldn't fall asleep and Epilogue was finishing up as the sun started rising, shining dim light through the room. He told me that it was just an amazing way to hear it for the first time. I'm sorry, I just can't even anymore. I'm crying this is just so beautiful.

@LeebMilder

FlyingRicer thats a good question because in one of her songs called, regret she sings, "I'm afraid of heaven because I can't stand the heights" but she is also known to climb on those metal things that hold the stage up (I can't remember what they're called) but there's videos of her just climbing really high on these things during her performances. So possibly she used to be afraid of heights but has now overcome that fear?
